  1. Read the spiel and it doesn't say how he came by it, even if it was a boot sale it'd be interesting. Not sure what he means by 3-5 publishers copies; records presumably or are there legit publishers acetates about?
  2. I'd guess legit but if I was bidding I'd like to know the story of how he got it- or did I miss that
  3. Maulted Sound Detroit. I've seen one knackered copy and need it if anyone has one. I know its not a run of releases but there may have been other releases, who knows? Otherwise I go for Shrine though Gaye's a good shout
  4. The person who owns it contacted me thanks. I had a feeling I'd heard it, was it on a boot CD?
  5. That's very interesting. Does it sound like a 1967 recording? I'd love to hear it and see a scan. Cheers Ady
  6. Has anyone got/seen a scan of the acetate? What type of label is it on? Ady
  7. Yes but they aren't 100% accurate
  8. Has anyone ever seen a copy of the 1967 Brent one listed in Manships? As he defo did it on an LA LP in 1977 I'm doubting as to whether this exists or not.

This is a bloke who tried to become aa Guardian Angel in London and contemplated saving Amy Winehouse from her "friends" and herself. He was always going to excel when needed.
  10. Hi Dave, I've had a thunk about this and remembered why we (Mick, Wid et moi) didn't bother with the shop too much. I actually had every UK Tamla release by then so I would only need to buy to resell -which was my full time job at the time. I remember they put the prices really high (relatively for London) so there was little margin for profit so I wouldn't spend too much time up there. I'd have obviously snapped up the Jimmy Thomas issue but you can't be everywhere at the same time. There were a lot of great finds, UK labels in particular, in London in those days. Ady
  11. You'd have thought Transatlantic would have had something about him when they released it
  12. Did Herb ever say who the Flirtations were?
  13. I agree with everything Jock says but am too busy to read his soliloquy
  14. It'll be in cinemas which is what Elaine has been hanging on for as it was created with a full screen in mind and deserves to be seen as such. I'm excited at the thought of being in a cinema with like-minded souls; it'll be a fab night out.
  15. Thanks Steve and Joe but I'm all sorted now. It arrived fine Paul Ady
  16. Any evidence Rod or just hoping what with Larry Atkins?
  17. Thanks Dave but I've heard it and I'm sure we can improve on that, though it's apparently a poor quality recording in the first place aurally.
  18. Its just that I've got a copy but can't find it and needed one in a couple of days not a week or so. Sorted now ta.
  19. Ta Jock, I think I'm good now. Ady
  20. Thanks Val, I emailed you back it's a dub we needed rather than scan, I think I'm sorted now. Thanks as usual to you and all helpful volunteers.
  21. If you could post it Special to me at Ace tomorrow Paul that'd be wunnerful!
  22. A bit steep for an R&B hit but if all else fails. Thanks very much Ady
  23. I've seen them like that before, I think the colour's just a bit changed by the photo.
  24. Thanks, looks a bit battered on the label so I'd worry about ghis M- grading. We need a copy a bit sharpish too. Thanks for the pointer. Ady
  25. By Kent/Ace. Needs to be M/M- CDs, many thanks and credit in return. Cheers Ady ady.croasdell@btinternet.com
