Awesome Rnb Dancer For Sale - On Hold
Do you mean "Show Me What You Got"? That's a great gritty tune, and one of my favourites by him along with "Share It" (Brunswick), "Black Bottom Blues" (Columbia), "Down In the Basement" (Togo) and "Crazy Feeling" (Togo). That Big Apple 45 surely must be his rarest 45 (and on dark red vinyl! ). I'm actually quite fond of his novelty cuts like "The Boo Boo Song", "Salt And Pepper" and "Do The Booga Lou" as well. Great artist! "Hang It Up" was also recorded by Bobby Byrd on Brownstone, and "Salt And Pepper" has got the same backing track as the "Deep Down Inside" (by "unknown male") tune which was included on Kent's "Arock & Sylvia Story" CD.

2 Rare Ones For Offers And A Few Nice Set Sale Things
"Been This Way Before" is a truly amazing tune. One of the best "free soul" type of tracks I have ever heard. Hard to find 45 as well!

Euro Only 45s - Continental Soul Releases
Not the best track ever, or even remotely northern... but The Supremes version of "Only Sixteen" was issued TWICE in Denmark with different catalogue numbers and different sleeves! Never issued as a 7" in the UK or US as far as I know.

Nice Bits 70s
Same here, Dave, just going from my own experience and with me being stuck here in Sweden I obviously don't go out and about at venues etc in the UK. But I can't say that I've seen any masses of original copies for sale during the past couple of years. The only recent copy on eBay which claimed to be an original (it's on Popsike, sold for $671) used the label scan of a bootleg (in fact, it was the scan I made of MY old bootleg copy), so I'm personally not convinced that it was the first issue that actually was sold. I sold my bootleg copy for $339 on eBay. Now after having had both an original and a bootleg through my hands I must say that it's very easy to see if it's an original or not. There doesn't have to be any confusion whether how to determine an original from a bootleg. ORIGINAL A-side matrix: Superdisc TBS-1001-A B-side matrix: Superdisc TBS-1001-B BOOTLEG A-side matrix: TBS 1001 A - 196 SUPERDISC B-side matrix: TBS 1001 B 95 Superdisc "Lower case" matrix-lettering on both sides = ORIGINAL "Lower case" on one side and "upper case" on the other = BOOTLEG

No, the originals are much, much rarer than the bootlegs. Most people seems to think that their bootleg copies are originals though.

Vinyl Cutting/carving
It's not rubbish. I can only speak from my own experience, but the records I've had sent my way have been cut with very low volume, at about 50%-60% volume compared to an average 60s or early 70s release. I can't really use any of the carvers I have, the volume is too low.

Vinyl Cutting/carving
I think the sound on the 45s coming from VinylCarvers is WAY below par. Very low volume (even on tracks that are less than 2 minutes) and a thin sound that is too heavy on the mid-range frequencies. It's almost impossible to play a carver after a loudly pressed original 45 at a club without compromising the sound quality or getting feedback through the system because you've had to crank up the gain so much on the channel that plays the VinylCarver. Very poor sound quality in my opinion. Go with the CD is what I say, you'll get both more tracks cheaper AND better sound quality.

Three Wants Off Manships Auction
Do you want this 45 for the "It's Just A Picture" or "To Make You Love Me" side? I should have a white demo copy here somewhere with "It's Just A Picture" on both sides. If interested, PM me with what you're willing to pay.

The Rising Sun - Good Loving
This was also released as by The Rising Sun on KINGSTON 41002 with "It Don't Concern Us" on the flipside. I don't know the info for his third Dade 45. I'll see if I can find it.

The Rising Sun - Good Loving
The "Good Loving" 45 is from 1973. Some info about The Rising Sun: Backing band for Miami R&B legend Sam Early, featuring organist Arnold Albury, bassist Charles Hepburn, drummer Ivan Orlando and guitarist Simian Taylor. Formed in 1970, the Rising Sun issued one single on Sun Cut and three others on the Bell distributed Kingston label. Backed Perk Badger's Sun Cut 45 and a Sam Early single on Cat before disbanding in 1972. Arnold "Hoss" Albury owned the Sun Cut label and was backed by The Casuals on three Dade 45s.

The Rising Sun - Good Loving
Might also be worth mentioning that this is a cover of The O'Jays (in my opinion superior, but quite different) original from 1969 on the Neptune label. If I remember correctly there are a bunch of other versions of "One Night Affair" as well. Top tune!

Foreign Dj's Current Top 5 In The Hotbox
No doubt there are some in-demand records in the list above... but my point was that I will not be selling any of the above in order to buy a new "hot" tune (hence me not being a hotboxer).

Foreign Dj's Current Top 5 In The Hotbox
I'm not much of a "hotboxer" and I'm not saying that these tunes are "unique" or "unknown" in any way, but if it's of interest here are 10 of my current fave spins: Soul Chargers feat. James Fountain - Soul Charge - STOP Dr. Soul - Left Eye Jump - MON'CA Saxie Russell - El Monkey - RAN-DEE Hodges, James, Smith & Crawford - I'm In Love - MPINGO Wild Honey - I've Been Working - GEORGIA PEACH Phillip Wright - Keep Her Happy - DASH Larry Dixon - Don't It Make You Dance - LAD Frank Eddie - Forever - INSYNC Crystal - Forever Us - HIT CITY Leroy Burgess & Robert Strauss - Hot Like An Oven - DEFECTED (LP) Have played all of these fairly recently at Club Function (in Malmoe, Sweden - check out or web-site here: https://www.clubfunction.com/ ) and try to fit them in as often as I can. All of them usually gets a good dancefloor reaction as well.

Bob Relf 1st Press?
Didn't we come to the conclusion in that thread that the release order was in this way: 1. Orange TRANS-AMERICAN issue (telephone number on the label: 213-389-9938) 2. Yellow TRANS-AMERICAN issue (telephone number on the label: 213-384-9334) 3. Official 1973 re-issue on TRANS (telephone number on the label: 213-384-9334) I personally think that the release order mentioned above is the correct one. If the yellow TRANS-AMERICAN issue was first, then the company got a new telephone number for the orange issue, then changed it back to exactly the same number for the reissue as on the supposedly first issue. Or perhaps the orange issue was the third release?
