Lil Major Williams
He can't possibly have been serious when uttering those words. Not that it's a particularly bad record, but if being the BEST 70S RECORD OF ALL TIME it has got quite a lot to live up to, and it doesn't. In my opinion etc.

Million $$ Of Rare Soul Book
I agree. It's incredibly poor in my opinion. But I still wouldn't mind those "extra" £160...

Million $$ Of Rare Soul Book
Bloody hell. I struggled for months to sell my copy on one of these forums, dropped the price over a couple of weeks, and finally let it go for £40. This was September 2004. Oh well.

Strange Crajon 45 - Lenny O'henry / Leon Haywood
Thought that as well. Payed $3 so no worries though. I do however suspect that is a much earlier press than from a couple of years back. That sound and vinyl quality can not be had these days when pressing 45s.

Strange Crajon 45 - Lenny O'henry / Leon Haywood
Just got this in the mail from the US. Pressed on heavy 60s vinyl. Absolutely superb sound quality. How did these two tunes, originally released on Atco (Lenny O'Henry) and Decca (Leon Haywood), end up on CRA JON? Bootleg? Original? Second pressing? Made for the beach scene? Does anyone know anything? Leon is from 1967, Lenny was first released 1964 BUT was re-released in 1967 on Atco again. Coincidence? Did these tunes suddenly get popular in 1967.

Cajun
Did two 45s on Warner Bros in 1969: Cajun Hart - Got To Find A Way / Lover's Prayer - WARNER BROS. 7258 Cajun Hart - Big City / The Whole World Is Watching - WARNER BROS. 7325 I haven't heard the "other" one.

Four Tops Version Of ''helpless''
Yes, that's the one, the other side has got "Standing In The Shadows Of Love" and "Since You've Been Gone". An EP indeed, but seems to be the only 7" release of "Helpless".

Four Tops Version Of ''helpless''
That's what I thought as well, but check out what I found in my record collection just a couple of hours ago: TOO many records!!!
-
Four Tops Version Of ''helpless''
Sorting out some stuff to put up on eBay and was left scratching my head whether the Four Tops version of Kim Weston's "Helpless" was released on a 45 anywhere in the world except on the rare picture sleeved french "Standning In The Shadows Of Love" 7" EP? Can't find any mention of a US or UK release.

Northern Soul From New Orleenz?
One of the best tunes ever recorded in my opinion. Can pick just about anything from Huey Piano Smith's catalogue of recordings and it's gonna be a winner. Love his "Little Liza Jane" as well.

A Case Of Time, real Or Not,be Nice To Know
It might very well look good, but the point is that it's a bootleg.

A Case Of Time, real Or Not,be Nice To Know
Here's a scan of the white label styrene copy, which I guess is the same one mentioned by Soul-Slider above. It's definitely a bootleg:

Unknown {to Me} Uptempo Fem Rarity
Yvonne Fair "Say Yeah Yeah" on DADE perhaps? R&B-edged funk tune. Have a listen: https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Yvonne_Fair...h_Yeah_Yeah.ram

Neal Kimble On Tangerine
Inflated indeed. $500-$700!!! That's outrageous for this 45 and must be only due to current hype. The most recent copy on ebay, which ended at $299 and NO BIDS was not shagged, it was VG+ and "plays great with full fidelity".

A Case Of Time, real Or Not,be Nice To Know
According to Manship: "styrene original with ZTSC scratched in matrix, vinyl copies with moulded over labels are bootlegs!"

A Case Of Time, real Or Not,be Nice To Know
It's the flip to "Manifesto" by Case Of Tyme. "Some Call It Love". Nice one. did you get an original for £8? could take one myself at that price if anyone's selling.

Modern Soul - Where Did The Term Come From?
If anyone happens to have a copy for sale of: Cecil Lyde's "I'll make it on my own" 45 on Alwest, please PM me.

Johnson Family Plus Others
Now that's what I call a decently priced superb tune. Two slightly different versions were released though with different catalogue numbers. They are very similar to eachother and both good.

Barrett Strong - I Better Run
The tunes on his Tollie 45 is some of the weakest material he ever recorded in my opinion. From his earlier stuff I really rate "Misery" on Tamla. https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Barrett_Strong_-_Misery.ram I also like "Is It True" on Capitol. https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Barrett_Str..._Is_It_True.ram

Modern Soul - Where Did The Term Come From?
Found myself a free copy of this LP just the other week and hardly even played it through, but when I finally did and got to this track the first thing that went through my mind was... "This is so much 'northern-modern' that it's ridiculous". Swirling strings, strong vocals, skipping beat in a Prince Phillip Mitchell "I'm So Happy" styleee. It certainly has got scene potential. But with that sleeve and being LP-only...
