WOW! That was fast. It'll be interesting to see what it goes for.

It's extremely hard to find and copies just doesn't come up for sale. Based on rarity and quality alone I'd say £300+, but it's hard to estimate because it's almost completely unknown (so could sell very cheap) and no copies are being sold. "Funky Soul Dance" is indeed a screaming funk dancer, but the flipside "Never Do I Worry (About You)" is an agressive and frantic soul dancer.

Price Please? Curly Moore - You Don't Mean
Got my copy (plus 9 other 45s in a "lot") about 18 months ago on eBay for $20.50 including shipping. Who said that bargains can't be had on eBay anymore...? Anyway... on the topic of Curly Moore, today I finally got a copy of his "Soul Train" 45 on the Hotline label (not the Nola issue, which is a pretty tough one in its own right). Pretty much all of his 45s are great in my opinion. Top New Orleans stuff.

Rhythmic Freedom On Air Show 08 08 2006
Is it on a Venture 45 as well? Isn't the original release on a Big C 45? And it's not THAT hard surely? A copy sold quite cheap (under $15) on eBay just a couple of months back. Also on a reissue 45 on Ronn. Nice tune!

Jb Ledbetter And Victoria Williams - Show Some Sign

Jesus In My Soul
Robert Darden's book People Get Ready!: A New History of Gospel Music" is absolutely essential reading for anyone interested in the history of gospel music in particular and the roots of african american music in general. Thoroughly researched and well written (although a bit "academic" at times). Check it out: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0826414...8&s=gateway

Latin Influenced Soul
Yes, that Harlem River Drive tune sure is fab!. Glad you liked it, sounded awesome last friday. As for the club I run, here's the homepage if you're interested: https://www.clubunderstanding.com/ All of the text is in swedish, but there are photos, flyers, lots of sound clips and a bunch of 60-minute MP3-mixes for downloading if you look around a bit... the music policy is supposed to be all over the place, but it turns out 90% soul, funk, disco and r&b most of the nights anyway... by the way "lyssna" means "listen"... good luck...

I played Harlem River Drive's "Seeds Of Life" on Roulette this past friday at my club and it sounded absolutely magnificent. Great booming sound. Have a listen to a short clip: https://homepage.mac.com/lscott/jukebox/Seeds_Of_Life.mp3

Esther Williams Wanted
Don't think I've ever played that side of the 45 earlier... so just dug it out and indeed, it's a nice dancer. Still prefer the a-side "Last Night Changed It All". Sorry, not for sale, but thanks for the tip. Shouldn't be too hard to locate, a M- copy went through eBay just the other day for $51.

Are These Available On 7"
Thanks, Karl. Anyone know the deal with Sabata? The 12" has got both a "short" and "long" version on it, so a 7" wouldn't be entirely out of the question I guess.

Records I've Always Wanted To Hear
Ah! Interesting. Didn't know that. Just checked out Manship's homepage and he mentions: CURTIS - How Can I Tell Her / I Remember - CHARM CITY 1879 CURTIS - How Can I Tell Her / I Remember - CHARM CITY 1932 (1st. Mix 4.32 long) Strange that the "first mix" has got a higher catalogue number than the supposedly "second mix" though. Would really like to hear it.

Records I've Always Wanted To Hear
That MP3 is taken from my Charm City 45. Were there two different versions of this released on Charm City 45s?

So you need the 7" mix then? Here it is: (what a pounding tune!!! ) Curtis___How_Can_I_Tell_Her.mp3

Interpretations - Coming Out Of Hiding - Love
No it's not. I'm not saying anything about it being northern or not/soul or not, but it's a great tune. Would've sounded even better with different production. It's pretty much perfect eurovision song contest fodder and would probably have won if it had entered. Great verses, catchy chorus, nice breaks, decent lead vocal (Steve Brokenstein?) and an obligatory key change towards the end (or am I just imagining that?). It's brilliant, and IF written by Levine, definitely one of his finest moments since "24 Hours A Day" by Barbara Pennington.
-
Interpretations - Coming Out Of Hiding - Love
I like it. It's a near perfect pop tune. But Levine indeed, and I could've done without the pseudo-60s production and backing vocals.

A Few More Wants
What a monster of a tune! Have you heard Chuck Cornish "A Tribute To Mohammed Ali" on White Cliffs? Same backing track, very different lyrics. Both are brilliant! I think the Chuck Cornish 45 was released prior to Senator Jones.
