Mp3 Wanted
This is the best I can do. It still has got Keb talking over it, but at least it's easier to load into your MP3-players. Don't quite "get it" myself. One of the worst tune Keb plays in that set. Oh well. Mixed_Feelings___Sha_La_La.mp3

Shades Down
I'm quite happy with the ongoing "Complete Motown Singles" box-set series. Volume 5 will be released any day now and it contains ALL a and b sides from 1965. There's no Ric-Tic/Golden World stuff on there, but as far as reissues of Motown stuff goes, I think I'll be pretty satisfied with these box-sets when they've reached 1972 in a couple of years. Check them out if you haven't seen them: https://www.soulmusic.com/completemotownsingles.htm Top stuff! As for unissued stuff... now that's a different story.

Street People - Baby, You Got It All / I Wanna Get Over - SPRING 148 Great group indeed! Love their Vigor stuff. Actually, earlier today I picked up a copy of L.T.D.'s version of "Never Get Enough Of Your Love" on A&M. Not as good as Street People, but still decent. Which numbers are you missing? Let me know and I'll see what I can come up with.

Bill & Will "goin' To The River" On Athens/checker
Yes, that one was really strange. Can't quite remember, but was it one of the "English Freakbeat" albums? What did the liner notes say? "Bill" is rumoured to be Billy Lee Riley... but not according to himself...

Bill & Will "goin' To The River" On Athens/checker
Several years ago I read a label discography for the Athens label and noticed that Bill & Will's pounding "Goin' To The River" was supposed to have had a local release on that label prior to being leased to Checker. Over the years I started to suspect that it was a misprint of some kind... until a copy on Athens suddenly turned up the other week. Feels kinda nice having them both side by side after such a long search. Not exactly soul, but a firm favourite of mine and apparently a play at some of the more r&b-firendly clubs. Spring Records
Great tune! I have an EMPIRE RECORDING CORPORATION acetate with Millie Jackson which includes an early unissued demo version of "A Child Of God" (entitled "It's Hard To Believe (That He's A Child Of God)" on the label). It's a bit scruffy condition wise, but here's an MP3 if you're interested: https://www.shingaling.com/acetates/MillieJ...rdToBelieve.mp3

Pacesetters-i'm Gonna Make It
Released on Minit 32043 with the fantastic ballad "What About Me, Baby" on the flipside. Great double-sider. Not an easy 45 to find these days, but not in-demand it seems because the copies that do come up for sale ususally goes for £20 or less. And that's always nice.

Check out Howard Peters "Tighten Up The Slack". It's a bit of a thumper... to say the least! Howard_Peters___Tighten_Up_The_Slack_.mp3

Spyder Turner / Nolan Strong / Fortune
Yes, he released an album in 2004 on Fat Possum entitled "I Just Want To Be Held". It's a quite nice record but he hasn't got much of his voice left, the version of John Lennon's(!) "I Found Out" is fantastic though and "Satisfied Fool" is a decent mid-tempo dancer. Check this out for more info: https://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&a...10:wna9kemtfq7v

Arnie & The Lovelettes - We Had Enough
Just heard a nice early 80s modern soul/boogie tune entitled "We Had Enough" by Arnie (Joseph) & The Lovelettes (apparently the same guy who later released records as Arnie's Love). The tune I'm after is supposed to be available on some 3-track EP. Does anyone of you know anything? Label? What are the titles of the other tracks? Anyone got a copy for sale perhaps? Any info would be nice. Thanks in advance!

John Manships Auction Today
The reason that the Brooks Brothers 45 went "cheap" on Manship's auction might be because another copy of this 45 sold on eBay yesterday for $2215 (about £1220). Check it out: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=330000134576
