I have an Edwin Starr Polydor W/D but sadly no middle. I've seen a few of them though. The only Volumes I've ever seen on Pama was I Love You. Cheers Kev

Shit, yet another LOVE TKO. Sad news. Kev
  4. The 3 at the top of my list would be. 1. JJ Barnes at The Casino (mid /late70's) This was the first time I heard a black man sing live and it was the absolute main reason I continued the soul journey. I swear I changed physically that night. 2. My second would be The Masqueraders at Prestatyn for shear Quality and Class. 3. Ray Pollard/Tony Middleton/Terry Callier/Sid Barnes/Hoagy Lands/Maxine Brown/Betty Lavette/Dean Parrish at 100club. Would have loved to have seen The O'Jays and Jackie Wilson. Kev
  5. Super record and rarely away from my turntable at home. Kev
  6. Grant I was always led to believe the Red issues were a little later. Though there's not much in it pricewise. Also blue demo copies are around with a star on them if I remember rightly. My 5 at the moment would be. I Think I Found a Love-J J Barnes-Ric-Tic (flip to Please let me in) Tighten Up Your Own Thing-Etta James-Checker Billy Stewart-I Do Love You-Chess Jackie Wilson-I'm The One To Do It-Brunswick Earl Harrison-Humphrey Stomp. Kev
  7. HDYMABH for me at no 1. Second comes Something. pure etheral vocaling. Bliss. To many to mention but I have the Living for you songsheet displayed promenantly in my house. Kev
  8. You blaggard you! Where's Toby with the Ric-Tic sleeve he promised me? Kev
  9. It's on Refosoul Kev
  10. Nice one Harry. Had me fair rockin' round the bedroom. All the best Kev
  11. A dead end there then. Thanks for the replies though. Dave I'll be around Burnley visiting family on New Years Eve so won't be able to pick up for Rajan. Have a good one though. Cheers Kev
  12. Nothing on the Ric-Tic, Inferno, Wingate, Impact, Twirl, Thelma Dave? Would some of them have been in distributors sleeves? Golden World maybe? Did Rajan sort out the collection of those records from 100club next Tues Dave? Cheers Kev

Not my price. Although I paid £40 for an Ex w/d on Elf this year. The flip 'Aint no Danger' is getting plays again. Kev

John Manship had a Pama copy on his site recently. £50. Kev
  15. If memory serves me right Brian Dave's mum was my godmother. Small world eh! Kev
  16. Fantasy sleeves wouldn't work for me. The nice thing about the records is that they are genuine original presses. Original sleeves would look good though like the Motown/Gordy/Tamla/Soul ones do. Kev
  17. Nice photo that. What great guys they are. Kev
  18. It sounded bloody fantastic when it was sung live at Prestatyn with the other members of The Volumes on backing vocals. Moments like that don't come around too often these days. Awesome soul record. IMHO Kev
  19. I was looking at some of my Ric-Tic, Impact, Inferno, Wingate records today and as much as I love 'em, all shiney with that lovely sound inside them they looked incomplete. I like record sleeves for my records when I can find them but realised I'd never had or seen any sleeves for the above record labels. I kept thinking 'How good would that look in a company sleeve. Do they exist? Has anyone got any? I'd love to see some if anyone can help. Cheers Kev
  20. Any chance of a scan Kenny? Cheers Kev
  21. No but its a cover with a reggae flavour.
  22. Thanks Mick Not the New Orleans' group on this one. Male vocal. I saw the one on popsike but this is a demo with a lovely red A. Kev
  23. Hi Trawling recently through some old boxes of records I came across The Sugarlumps 'Sugar Sugar' Jayboy UK BOY 16. Vg condition I'd say. Any information regarding the record and value. (even if its worthless) would be appreciated. Not really my cup of tea, but someone may know more than me. and appreciate it. Thanks in advance Kev
  24. Jut seen this. Very sad news. I only met Alan a couple of times but I remember Our Dave asking me what my best memory of my time at Hitsville was. He said his was watching Eddie Parker turn around on the turntable. My reply was 'chatting to Alan Pollard'. What a lovely man. We all take something away from really nice people and I surely took something of Alan away from Spain that year. Alan you're spirit will live on and the world is absolutely a better place for you having visited it. Condolances all round. Enjoy your rest. Kev
