Chess : Dark Blue Label
that's a weird one, never seen that variant, wonder if it's legit or some sort of local distributor pressed cash-in?

Nick Ashford Rip
Sad news, great writer. http://news.yahoo.co...-005535674.html added by site NEW YORK (AP) — Nick Ashford, one-half of the legendary Motown songwriting duo Ashford & Simpson that penned elegant, soulful classics for the likes of Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye and funk hits for Chaka Khan and others, died Monday at age 70, his former publicist said. Ashford, who along with wife Valerie Simpson wrote some of Motown's biggest hits, died in a New York City hospital, said publicist Liz Rosenberg, who was Ashford's longtime friend. He had been suffering from throat cancer and had undergone radiation treatment, she told The Associated Press. links http://www.soulwalki...%20Simpson.html

Tami Lynn - One Night Of Sin
I've never really explored Tami Lynn's records, but have had "I'm Gonna Run Away From You"/"The Boy Next Door" on Mojo for years. Anyway, can someone give me a quick rundown on Tami Lynn's 45s? Discography & what the rough timeline is for different releases of "I'm Gonna Run Away From You" & why "One Night Of Sin" is the flip on the New Zealand press instead of "The Boy Next Door"?

Best Daptone Records?
I pretty much think it's tough to go wrong with their stuff. High quality control. I like the Charles Bradley LP, all the Sharon Jones stuff etc etc.

New Zealand had Parkway (sans-Cameo) stuff too.

Ike & Tina On Sonja And The Girlwatchers On Moonglow. Valuations Please?
I'm wrong, whatever one I had wasn't the one in that auction above.
-
Ike & Tina On Sonja And The Girlwatchers On Moonglow. Valuations Please?
I think my reasoning for letting it go was that I have a NZ press of WNAU on London & the Minit press of YGTMTTB so it was better to have 4 different tracks on 2 45s than 4 different tracks on 3 45s, downsizing.

Ike & Tina On Sonja And The Girlwatchers On Moonglow. Valuations Please?
Maybe $20 each. I know I got $5 or $10 for Ike & Tina on ebay a while back, but I thought that was way cheap. Don't know the Girlwatchers. But neither show on Collector's Frenzy which tracks records which sell for $25 or more through ebay.

Mighty Joe Young
what do you mean? he is fairly easily found on Google. MJY is one of the better known Chicago bluesmen (with a strong soul inflection to his material) of the 60s/70s. Webcor was a Chicago based label he recorded for around 66-67. See also the Celtex label & the work of Roy Hytower from around the same time for a similar vibe. MJY had a long career as a blues guitarist & also played on a bunch of Chicago soul records on labels like Onederful etc. He also played with Magic Sam for a while. Good stuff. "Suffering Soul" is a great track, also check out "Ladies Man" on Celtex & the cheapie "I Want A Love" on Webcor. .
