  1. Thanks alot for the comments, Ian.....cheers for checking out the show! Looks like I'm going to have an extended stay in the UK (til the end of August), so I'm hatching a plan with Dave to present the next 3 shows live from the UK. The June show will overlap with the release of the comp so we're going to use it as a promotional vehicle, all being well. So the date shift works kinda nicely ;) Excellent news on the mastering.....can't wait to see and hear the finished product! Cheers.......G
  2. Here's the 12th installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/divine-chord-gospel-show-pt-12/ We start with a hyper rarity out of Bakersfield CA...a 45 causing a lot of buzz around Europe and so far there have been less than 10 copies discovered...presenting Willie Dale! Plus we air out a metal acetate courtesy of the High Steppen Crossroads Singers - a heavy funk groove that needs way more exposure. In the 2nd section, we venture to sweet soul territory by way of San Jose & Sisters Lydia & Merna. Plus a relatively new discovery by the Fantastic Goldenaires gets a timely spin....and we head to the mid west for the Swan Mellarks & the Jean Johnson Singers To close, it all goes a little more modern with killer dancefloor tunes from Jo Armstead, Dorothy Norwood & a sublime rarity from the Johnson Gospel Singers! Feel free to join the facebook group 'The Divine Chord Gospel Show' for updates. Thanks for listening.

Slight label wear) Price in US DOLLARS = $75.00 + postage from California Clip of the disc on offer; https://www.divshare.com/download/17475846-41c Rare 45 produced by Cleo Page....this has commanded over $250 when it was first discovered (I paid around $200 for my first copy!) Just floated through the bay @ $90, so here's a chance to get a copy of this brutal ghetto gospel funk cut at a more agreeable price. Please PM to reserve. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for posting this, Ian.......great to see it's almost ready for release! A really great project to have been part of, mate!
  9. That was the one of those ten that I knew he played a while back.......Rawl Soul Express 'round about 1990 and Lemuria was a new spin in 1993, pretty sure the rest came after.
  10. Ah, apologies then......yes, these would have been from 1992/3 onwards
  11. Here's a ten of his spins I remember, to get the ball rolling; Rawl Soul Express 'The way we live' Lemuria 'Hunk of heaven' Courtial 'Losing you' Willie J 'Boogie with my baby' Ellipsis 'People' Sons of the Kingdom 'Modernization' Heem & the Monsters 'Wake up people' Mellow Madness 'Save the youth' Master Force 'Don't fight the feeling' Record Player 'Free your mind'
  12. Hard to believe that it's been almost a year since the first broadcast of the Divine Chord Gospel Show....and for those of you feeling a tad nostalgic, here's the mixcloud link to the first set of tunes given a spin; https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/divine-chord-gospel-show-pt-1/ Please join us on Thursday 24th May @ 2pm US PST (10pm UK time) for another session of underplayed and freshly discovered gospel soul & funk all played on original vinyl pressings. This month we'll be airing the huge California rarity by Willie Dale 'Let your light shine', as well as giving the first spin (on metal acetate) of the massive funk sound of the High Steppen Crossroads Singers. An hour of killer music that you might not have heard before, so please drop on by and enjoy the ride. https://dublab.com/ Then at 3pm (11pm UK time), we launch into another session of the 45's of Fury, with this months special guest Music Man Miles from Breakestra. This cat runs deep.....his collection of funk inspired tunes has been keeping the LA faithful cuttin' rugs and polishin' dancefloors for over 15 years.....expect to hear 45's that he keeps as his 'game changers'. His boss cuts......be ready for a serious ear bashing ;) And if you can't tune in live, be on the lookout for mixcloud recordings and suchlike a coupla days after!
  13. I'm gonna be guesting for the re-opening on 7th July so would be grand to see you there mate, if you can make it!
  14. Ending today..........thanks!
  15. Cheers mate......appreciate you taking the time!
  16. OK, that's great info.......I'm not interested in tracking them down mate, so no worries there. Just thought they could have been west coast as it seems a few of the copies I've heard of were found there. Cheers!
  17. A few days to go on these........all have soundclips so check 'em out!
  18. Did you find your copy out here, DeeJay?
  19. For set sale; Grading scale = M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G+, G Lil Bryant 'Ho-ho' / 'Love is such a hurtin' thing' (Deb) Grading by side; 'Ho-Ho' is VG- (I've given this grade due to 8 long scuff marks over the vinyl. Otherwise, the disc has great luster and plays pretty much faultlessly. Almost unbelievably good considering this side doesn't look good. Please check the clip for an unaltered sample...playgrades closer to VG++). 'Love is such....' is VG++. Very tiny lipwarp DNAP. Price = $125.00 + postage from California 'Ho-Ho' has been picking up on playlists recently in Europe, and the flip is a very smart, almost popcorn-esque stroller. Rare disc! Clip; https://www.divshare.com/download/17578660-577 Please PM to reserve. Thanks!
  20. Yeah, can definitely hear that, Russ......the copy I have here was found out west and I've discussed it with friends in the know, and we concluded west coast at the time. But nothing confirmed, not by a long shot.
  21. Sorry mate, I don't.
  22. Great tune, but can anyone confirm where this was recorded. At the moment, I'm thinking it's a west coast disc, somewhere in California.....anybody else have more accurate info? Cheers!
  23. Here's a bunch of 45's just listed on the bay.......get at 'em here, thanks! https://www.ebay.com/...&_sop=12&_rdc=1
  24. Please PM if you can help with a copy of their 'I've got a friend' disc. Thanks alot!
  25. For set sale; Something a little different.......I first found a copy of this 45 six years ago, and it's become a bit of a mini-obsession to find more copies since. There's something about this record that appeals to me. Granted, it won't be for everybody, but I'm happy to finally offer a spare of a pretty unique sounding disc out of Los Angeles, and undoubtedly super rare. Larry Covin 'Carefree' / 'Why don't people' (Feelings Record Productions) VG (both sides play great! Please check the clip of both sides. Very slight label wear to the b side) Price in US DOLLARS = $125.00 + postage from California. **ON HOLD** Clip; https://www.divshare....ad/17550023-ec6 Please PM to reserve. Thanks!
