  6. Mine arrived yesterday and have to say I love the Luther Ingram track. Also have to say that I am not over keen on the Otis track!!
  7. There was also one with Ian McShane (Lovejoy) where he was a Dj trying to find the members of his favourite group. He ended up travelling in the US in a big convertible. One of the group members was played by Isaac Hayes. Please tell me it wasnt a dream. Of course The Five Heartbeats has a great soundtrack.
  8. They dont have boot sales in Canada but Flea Markets. I have just made my monthly trip to "Canada's Largest and Longest Running Flea Market" which is about 25 mins drive. It opens in April and the first month I picked up Four Exceptions - You Got The Power - Parkway promo amongst a handful of Soul/Garage stuff - total spent $25. Last month, again amongst a nice handful of Reggae/Garage/Soul I got Theresa Lindsey - Good Idea - Correctone - total spent $30. This morning was a bit of a flop, bit of a storm this morning put off a lot of sellers, until I found a small Record Box and picked up a copy of Linda Griner - Goodbye Cruel Love - Canadian Tamla. I picked up 12 45's for $8!?!?
  9. Been very quiet here due to "outofworkness" but I did come home with Eldridge Holmes - Working In The Coal Mine - Decca from local charity shop today, a great version. Received a missing Mirwood promo (Music Company) last week and I am also waiting for the 2 Blue Kent 45's plus Brothers Of Soul - Boo and The Exits - Gemini.

Does every one else have the Red Vinyl as mine is Black? I believe I got it from the back pages of Black Echoes.
  15. They are pretty common here is Canada, I have a nice one with Saxes, Drums, Guitars etc on it. Like poster above says, they hols about 12 45's. Pm if you have no luck here and I will try and pick one up for you.
  16. You could try Bags Unlimited but they are in US also. There is Covers33 in UK but I dont know if the do Brown paper sleeves.
  17. I have a Staples Singers album like this somewhere. I have never actually played it since I bought it for $1 about 2 years ago! I had assumed it was Japanese but have never really looked at it.
  18. Spent a couple of hours today going through 1000's of 45's in a Flea Market. There were loads of Nashville labels and judging by the titles they were all Country but it dawned on me that I couldnt be 100% sure and as there was no listening post I wasnt going to take a risk even though they were only $1 each. Are there any known Nashville Soul labels or anything that came out on Nashville labels? One I did buy was Sylvia Robinson - Oo Wee Baby - Tru-glo-town promo - any value? Oh, and I know this isnt a Nashville label as it says NJ on it!!
  19. I think you will find that this is ebay blocking the ID's of the other bidders? You can only see your ID. Been like this for some months now?
  20. I like the fact that the Canadian record sellers dont know what Northern Soul is, and you would be amazed at how many sellers, in this day and age, have absolutely no idea what is out there, what thye have or what it sells for.
  21. Found these links in a thread about a Soul Nite in Paris back in April. I assume future events will be advertised on there www.myspace.com/sausagedom www.myspace.com/elsuperfreak www.sausage-records.com
  22. Actually left a copy of the Nick Palmer behind in a store on Canadian RCA a week or so ago. I suppose I will have to go back and see if it is still there now!!
