  2. Mine looks the same as the 1 posetd - except it doesnt have the writing either side of the 45rpm, logo under the Columbia at the top? Can anybody add anything to this? I wonder if it might have been done at the same time as the Dean Barlow, Paul whatshisname on Jacklyn? They originated in Canada as well I believe?
  3. Can anybody tell me if this has been booted as a White Label promo? Just picked one up from Record Show and it is mint. No reference in John's Bootleg Guide.
  4. Talking of record finds at tips. When I first got to Canada I had no job so got employment through an agency an ended up doing service for a company that sold electric beds. Once a week I had to go to the local dump to get rid of old motors, bits and pieces, packaging. On the third or fourth trip, as I was throwing stuff I noticed a couple of albums sticking out. I asked the old guy if I could have them and he said sure but he wasnt allowed to give them to me. I jumped down and picked up a couple of Barbara Streisand albums!!! I asked him if he could put them aside for me and he said sure, so next week there was a box of 30 odd albums, then next week the same, then again and this lasted for probably 12 months and in this time I must have got 1000's of albums but never many 45's and what there were was Pop, Rock etc? Got some great Blues, Psych, Garage, Reggae, Rock, Jazz albums, plus tons of Beatles, Elvis, Hendrix etc which I used to trade at record shows and also sold out of my basement through the local free papers. Being out on the road all over the Toronto area I also got to know the shops, Goodwill's and Flea Markets, great, lasted for 18 months before I moved on. By the way, I bet Martin Koppell, Richard Pack and Kevin Cox could add some good Canadian stories?
  5. Added to the collection over the last couple of weeks: The Precisions - I Do, Dont You - Drew Pearl Jones - Give Me Another Chance - Sidra The Dynamics - Bingo - Wingate - actually still waiting for this to arrive JJ Barnes - Our Love - Revilot John Rhys - Nothing But Love - Impact Jackie Lee - Your Personality - Mirwood promo
  6. As suspected but it appears in all the discographies and I dont think it has ever been confirmed as un-released has it?
  7. Anybody got a spare of this? Is it rare?
  8. I definately will be playing it before I shell out for it. It has taken 3 weeks for the guy to actually send me the pictures so I am not holding my breath that this will actually happen.
  9. Nope, B side is "This Thing Called Love"

Saw him many times as well but the one that sticks out was supporting Marvin Gaye at the Royal Albert Hall? To be honest I thougth he was a strange choice as I had only seen him before at niters but in true Edwin style he gave a superb show.
  13. I have been in Canada for 8 years now and during this time we have been to the States quite a few times with varying success. I always manage to find some Northern but havent, nor expect to find a big haul in these internet times. Last summer we went to Indiannapolis for a wedding. We drove down on the Friday for the pre-wedding dinner and as the wedding was 4:00 on Saturday I had a few hours to spend looking around. There is a new, to me, chain in the US called Half Price books, they seem to be in most US towns and they are as they say, huge second hand book shops but they all have large record sections as well. There were 3 in Indiannapolis and I managed to find some decent Detroit and Northern 45's, probably 25 total for 25c each!! Not bad. Also got the Bob and Earl album that was on BC in UK but on Upfront? A NY label but probably a boot? On the way down I had noticed a big Flea Market and as we were driving back Sunday afternoon I planned a stop. Got there and had a look around outside with no luck, inside there was a stall packed with records and some old red-neck guy sat behind a table. "Got any 45's?" Yes, underneath that rack" Pulled 8 boxes out, about 300 in each box, and started going through them but first things were all Country but loads of MGM, Columbia, Epic promos. Kept ploughing through in the hopes of finding 1 decent one at least but no.. nothing. Pushed them back and went to walk out when the guy launched into me "Who the f##k do you think you are?" "Dont treat my stuff like s##t" "You f##king English bastards come in here, go through my stuff, treat it like shit, never buy anything" By now all the other redneck sellers had gathered round, I was expecting some body to pull a shotgun out or something!! I made my excuses as I thought it wasnt wise to get into a row with them!! As I said above I always seem to find something but never anything mega or any big hauls but then most of the time I am there as a tourist with non-vinyl types but always set aside a couple of hours on my own to look for records. They can be hard to find but there are still lots of vinyl only Record shops out there.

  20. In the same handful of 45's was The Mighty Clouds Of Joy - Time - ABC Dunhill, is this known or played? It bloody should be - what a belting 70's dancer.
  21. Cheapsiderecords replied to a post in a topic in Record Wants
Not a demo but I do have a Canadian copy of Hope We Have if you want to make an offer. Also have: Marvin Smith - Have More Time The Artistics - Ill Always Love You Demetriss Tapp - What Kind Of Girl all on Mint- Purple Canadian Brunswick and all open to offers.
  22. All I meant was when I played it yesterday I just thought it sounded a bit more discoey than when I remembered it from years ago, when it was, as you all say, a monster.
  23. As I am in Canada I am going to assume Gamma is the Canadian one although nothing on the label.
  24. Just picked this up for a buck at the local Record Show, any real value? Played it and it sounded pretty discoey? John Manship has it in his last book for a tenner?
