Levanna McClean teaches Northern Soul
Seems some people are missing the point here , I would think Levanna organised this event to aim it at a young audience , and to try and get herself and others away from the typical Soul night which is attended by mainly people of a more mature age . And that is the only way the youngsters are going to pick up the baton and carry it forward and not die out . Leave them to it , they seemed to be enjoying it which is what it is all about.

I LOVE REISSUES
You mentioned you were buying re issues and some were of dubious quality , all uk legit re issues I have bought have all been excellent , I think the question was asked about the records you bought just to make sure you were not buying boots and to help you along the way in future.

New Book - 1975 - A Year In The Life Of Northern Soul
Thanks for the reply , would you please give a update when you have read the book so I can make a informed decision whether or not to purchase . I have bought numerous books that set out on a good route but then seem to meander and run out of steam. I would much appreciate your or anyone else who reads the book to give a opinion on the book , hopefully it will be worth a purchase .

New Book - 1975 - A Year In The Life Of Northern Soul
Is it a good read Ken and does gives a realistic impression what was happening in the year in question and maybe things to come . I am a avid reader of soul related books but this one has a small time frame and at £30 do not want to be disappointed there is loads of books out of here I could purchase but if this one is recommended by someone who has read it a purchase will be forthcoming .

Any help at all on a record?
I'm out of here I will stick to the Cornelius Brothers off the LP played at 45 rpm with the added percussion that makes it better in my opinion .

Any help at all on a record?
And save you about £450 😂

Any help at all on a record?
To have a one off sleeve that is a nice thing to put his Bloomfield demos, in a lot of bother for most people but we do not know his occupation but if in design , print , quite easy.

- Northern Soul - REALLY!!!
Charles Johnson , great record back in the day and played everywhere as I remember but it sounds so insipid now to my cloth ears .- Northern Soul - REALLY!!!
No it's jazz funk 😂- New Sounds " New Sounds "
Is this LP as good as the hype it has received ? I have only heard one track from it which did not blow me away .- What is crossover??
I think the Voices From The Shadows article on x over as already stated by Chalky got the definition spot on . Good thing about this site is most people who come on.seem to have got tastes in all kind of soul music . To me I have no preference to any style of soul , a record whatever style I like that's enough for me .- Carl Hall and Darrow Fletcher - Views...
Now my answer to the question , nowt in it myself both fine vocalists so it would be down to personal favourite records by the artists in question again hard to separate so I will call it a draw on my scorecard 😂- Carl Hall and Darrow Fletcher - Views...
The posters question is a bit cryptic but I think he wants to compare the 2 artists he mentioned. Beat me to it 👍- Your most loved "double sider" 7s
Parliament's " Don't Be Sore At Me " bw. " All Your Goodies Are Gone " . Cheapie and two all time faves .- Four Tops "ask The Lonely" Accapella
Does not get better than " Ask the Lonely " the acapella version also takes on a new meaning to the great song . Glad I got the chance to see the Tops in the Seventies a couple of times and they were great live too.- The Debonaires - Interviews with Elsie & Diane
Thanks for this one and all the others . - Northern Soul - REALLY!!!
