  1. Yes it was 76,The records I chose were what I remember about my first trip to Station Rd, What would have been the Big / New tunes In August / September 1976 ??? Anyone !! Grant
  2. Long time ago not sure if I heard these on my first visit to The Casino,But they just come to mind really vividly, Were they massive tunes or just ones that I liked ?? Frankie Beverly --- If That's What You Wanted Garnet Mimms --- Looking For You Dena Barnes --- If You Ever Walk Out Of My Life (also really liked "These Heartaches") The Salvadors --- Stick By Me Baby The one sound that get's me thinking about it now is The Superlatives --- "I Still Love You", Far too fast to dance to nowadays(Except in the kitchen),But back in the day !! Grant

Only if he was on a bus dressed as a she, I can see the headline now "Cross dressing Thai Boxing Champion Attacked,!! By One Time Substance Abuser", The former Thai boxer stated "I think it was my Northern Soul bag that attracted him to me" He asked me really strange questions like "What was the best record on R C A" When I said I did not know He then put on a mohair jumper and some strange plastic shoe's ,And asked me if "I could make his Funk the P - Funk" I then ran away screaming "MUM it's that scouser from the bus again"

I wonder if the black and white clip is an outtake,He was doing the same dance and then just seemed to walk off and then back on again, Thought that someone on here would have known him though

If you go to youtube and type in Curtis Lee Northern soul it takes you to that clip, On the right of the main clip there are links to others, There is one in black and white showing the same sequence but with a lot more of Mr P- Funk, He walks off like you said in your post but then comes back a few seconds later,And carries on dancing,Must have been an out-take from the This England prog

Discussed this chap on here before,Stomper in black with P- Funk on the back of his shirt about 1.28 into the footage, Remember seeing him at Wigan all the time, anyone know who he is, Is he a member on here and why P_ Funk on the shirt ?? I had the "Mothership Connection" album by Parliament,And the track on it called "Make my funk the P funk" But that wasn't a very Northern tune,100% funk
  16. The Peter's Stringfelow and Waterman have a few tunes,Also Eamon Holmes or so I have heard,Ken Bruce of radio 2 fame also, Graham "Beeky" Beecroft from Talksport in the UK likes a bit of NS also,They did a bit from his I-Pod and played Archie Bell "Here I Go Again"
  17. Well said,And Iam in total agreement with you, John Wayne and Errol Flynn never won the war but they made it fun,and entertaining, A few plays ,Loads of books,Hundred's of c d 's thrown into the mix do not a bad story make, Let those without sin cast the first stone
  18. The flip to " Apples Peaches" - Jay and the Techniques - "Contact" was a good one back in the day
  19. Mine is not very BIG at all' It's the quality not the quantity that count's. O.K. Now let's talk about my records,
  20. August & Deneen "We go together" had Marvin and Tammi and Sonny and Cher The Commodores "Nightshift" had Marvin and Jackie And not forgetting the infamous Mr Jocky Wilson from Dexy's courtesy of the B B C
  21. I remember back in the day people would say that it was going to be the theme tune for the new Bond film, Great record !!
  22. Funny you should say that,Because i said the same back in 76-77, It did not stop myself or other people dancing to it,Or the same people buying it BACK IN THE DAY, It was played at ns venues so what more do you want,, And it WAS released on R.C.A.
  23. Great song Phil, Post No9 Ian Dewhirst beat you to it What about "Are You Ready For This" -- The Brothers Oh was "Interplay" not released on R.C.A.
