  1. Thanks but that's not the track I was after, see previous postings. Anyway, managed to secure all my wants so I close this thread.
  2. bought that, thanks!
  3. The term "xx known copies" is a relic from the pre-Internet days and has no real informative value for me now. It used to be some sort of evidence for me back then (pre-Internet, i.e. mid 90s?) when it refered to the UK Northern Soul scene only, as the collectors scene was rather small and well connected. So if you had a rare record you asked around and if you hadn't found another copy in say 2-3 month you could say you had "the only known copy in the UK", wasn't it like this?
  4. that looks really nice ... anyone got one of these Challenge sleeves for me? It would look fab with my W/D of Charles Lamont
  5. I think you mean Charles Lamont - I got to keep movin on Challenge?
  6. I know what you mean in this context. But if I search the internet for info about a certain record and I find little or no information at all, I think it's safe to assume that one is chasing a pretty rare/obscure record, isn't it?
  7. No, I already knew that some people have more money than brain cells
  8. Wasn't aware of that , the last copy I've seen went for 60 Euros...
  9. Don't know if it's wise to let the cat out of the bag on Soul Source but it's Ariola ...
  10. Been trying to find a german copy for years now w/out any luck. I consider it to be among the rarest Euro soul releases. I wish I had either a german or italian press, both Chapter Five goodies on one 45, wow!
  11. I thought it was even less
  12. Finally down to one last one want: Gene Chandler - Mr. Big shot - Constellation Willing to pay reasonable but not inflated prices for both, condition VG or better only please.
  13. Out of curiosity I google'd for the writers credits on "every step I take". They are Tony Michaels, Vinnie Gormann and William Joel, the latter better known as Billy Joel (yes, THE Billy Joel). There's one song called "every step I take" listed here. Can't play the audio on my office PC so I don't know if it's actually the Teardrops version. Can somebody play the audio to see which version it is?
  14. Sorry but have to disagree with you. The haircuts, the suits, etc. look very "Magnifcent Men"-ish to me if you know what I mean. Not that I know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if they turn out to be the same band on both records. BTW, I'm very certain "every step I take" is blue-eyed...

  16. 250 cash was actually too much IMO so I reduced it to 200. Anyone? Will also post it in the sales section...
  17. I'm sure they're all waiting for the Manship auction to end before offering you a copy
  18. The lowest I had gone in the past was to pay for some of my travel expenses when I knew a) the promoters were on a tight budget, b ) it was a decent venue of good reputation/music policy and c) free drinks all nights
  19. Had a second thought about it and changed my mind. I'd trade my VG+ condition super rare UK London demo of Justin Jones - Dance by yourself for a US copy (in at least equal condition) plus 250 quid cash. Anyone? Please PM me for details...
  20. Thanks Pottsy! To let the cat out of the bag, I actually got a UK London demo. Was thinking about offering it here on Soul Source in trade for a US copy plus ??? cash. But like you said, as the things are at the moment and it its more of a Popcorn sound I don't think I would get rid of it. Think I'll keep it, it looks rather nice
  21. here's a picture of a UK london demo. small but the only one I could find on the web. There was a UK London issue on Soul Source a few years ago @ 300 but I don't know it actually went for that price? Now where's Pete S if you need him
  22. I was once told the story of a guy who was so eager to play his tunes, he happily agreed to play from 08:00 - 08:45 pm. The only downer was, the do didn't start before 09:00 pm
  23. Does somebody know a realistic value for a UK London demo of Justin Jones - Dance by yourself? I think the US release is about 100 quid, UK london issue about 200. But how much for a UK demo? 300? TIA Benji
  24. well I tried to sell a few bits but with only one record sold and one other on hold (and no reply to my PM yet) it seems that my daughter won't even get the ponytail of the rocking horse she wants for christmas Only joking, been after Dave Charles for a while w/out really hard searching for it but mentioned it in an email. lo and behold a mate offered me a copy...
