  3. Just picked this up in the states but can't find any info about it: The Other Ones - Stop - ABC 10793 (WD) Fairly obscure Righteous Bros soundalike dancer, nice one IMO. Anybody with a realistic value? The issue apparently goes for 200, this is a Monarch pressed west coast demo. Rarer? Or Cheap as chips? TIA Benji

  5. I don't think that the red/white releases are later pressings. There was a very good article about Way Out in Shades of Soul. The later, multi-coloured releases were nationally distributed (by MGM I recall?) and since most of the earlier releases did quite well, the label owners had the funds to invest in re-designed multicoloured printed labels. quite simple to me...
  6. I don't about the first few copies that came on the market, but the first large batch was sold by that Las Vegas dealer who also sold all these Prix stuff, was that Rich Rosen? Ebay ID Brooklynborn or so?
  7. Betty Everett "Too hot to hold" as well...
  8. Thanks but that's not the track I was after, see previous postings. Anyway, managed to secure all my wants so I close this thread.
  9. bought that, thanks!
  10. The term "xx known copies" is a relic from the pre-Internet days and has no real informative value for me now. It used to be some sort of evidence for me back then (pre-Internet, i.e. mid 90s?) when it refered to the UK Northern Soul scene only, as the collectors scene was rather small and well connected. So if you had a rare record you asked around and if you hadn't found another copy in say 2-3 month you could say you had "the only known copy in the UK", wasn't it like this?
  11. that looks really nice ... anyone got one of these Challenge sleeves for me? It would look fab with my W/D of Charles Lamont
  12. I think you mean Charles Lamont - I got to keep movin on Challenge?
  13. I know what you mean in this context. But if I search the internet for info about a certain record and I find little or no information at all, I think it's safe to assume that one is chasing a pretty rare/obscure record, isn't it?
  14. No, I already knew that some people have more money than brain cells
  15. Wasn't aware of that , the last copy I've seen went for 60 Euros...
  16. Don't know if it's wise to let the cat out of the bag on Soul Source but it's Ariola ...
  17. Been trying to find a german copy for years now w/out any luck. I consider it to be among the rarest Euro soul releases. I wish I had either a german or italian press, both Chapter Five goodies on one 45, wow!
  18. I thought it was even less
  19. Finally down to one last one want: Gene Chandler - Mr. Big shot - Constellation Willing to pay reasonable but not inflated prices for both, condition VG or better only please.
  20. Out of curiosity I google'd for the writers credits on "every step I take". They are Tony Michaels, Vinnie Gormann and William Joel, the latter better known as Billy Joel (yes, THE Billy Joel). There's one song called "every step I take" listed here. Can't play the audio on my office PC so I don't know if it's actually the Teardrops version. Can somebody play the audio to see which version it is?
  21. Sorry but have to disagree with you. The haircuts, the suits, etc. look very "Magnifcent Men"-ish to me if you know what I mean. Not that I know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if they turn out to be the same band on both records. BTW, I'm very certain "every step I take" is blue-eyed...

  23. 250 cash was actually too much IMO so I reduced it to 200. Anyone? Will also post it in the sales section...
  24. I'm sure they're all waiting for the Manship auction to end before offering you a copy
