Carvers
weren't carvers or EMI discs played by "top djs" part and parcel of the scene since the 70s? as a matter of facts, one well known UK dj had a whole bunch of EMI discs when he came over to Germany in the late 80s/early 90s. reason was, he bought pretty expensive discs, cut his EMI discs and sold the original 45s on. another example, years ago Pete Smith had Rob Marriotts EMI disc dub of Butchs Diane Lewis cover up for sale. Think the story was, that part of a record deal was that Rob did get a tape recording of the original acetate. So, carvers are nothing new IMO. yet, due to exposure on and the distribution of information via the internet, lots of people think this is something rather recent.

- Review Of New Peanut Duck Single
Of course it's not the best moment in soul music, of course it's not Marsha Gee singing (Could be even a white girl?), of course it's not Marsha Gee or the real singer on the picture cover but it's one hell of a catchy tune. period. Even if some don't like it now I'm sure everyone danced to it here and there ...- Review Of New Peanut Duck Single
this new peanut duck single isn't that new I'm afraid, it's been out for quite some time now. think it's from Spain. Anyway, sadly on the flipside it hasn't got the instrumental but a nice popcorn-ish track called "shimpanzee" by count yates. Speaking of the peanut duck instrumental (wasn't it called "dance track"?), has anyone a nice clean mp3 of it for me? TIA benji- Garfield Fleming Video
that's what i thought too! "dont send me away" came out in 1981 or was it 1982? anyway, that's more than 25 years ago and he still got that voice, fantastic!- Selling Records To Friends
believe it or not, I even sell records to my wife but basically I tend to sell records much cheaper to friends than to anybody else. on the other hand when a friend offers me a record way cheaper than its value who am i to argue with a friend??- For Sale:shufflers / George Hughley / Art Freeman / Superbs / Etc

Maybe worth mentioning "lies" is also on the "The Joneses" album on Epic. IMO it's a nice track but inferior to "Who loves you"..- Kings Go Forth Next Big Thing ?
you're not using firefox browser by any chance, do you? i had exactly the same problems like you. didn't see any SNOCAP link on the myspace site despite people posting on here that it should be there. also, i had difficulties to sort out payment via paypal. sorry, but can't remember how I solved that eventually. but I did! I know that I have to use IE in some cases to get things sorted maybe this could help you too?- Kings Go Forth Next Big Thing ?
I'm afraid you're missing something. It's available for 99c on https://www.snocap.com/- Kings Go Forth Next Big Thing ?
JT, "the best ever" or "one of the best ever", not really that much of difference, don't be anal about this. as much as I like this record, this is just another "flavor of the month" type of track I'm afraid. to go down in history as a truly northern soul classic it has to have mass acceptance. And that's what I really doubt. way too funky for the majority of the Northern Soul scene. I'll bet you no one will be interested in it by the end of summer. See, what happened to Nicole Willis "if this ain't love" or Sharon Jones "how long", hyped, played, almost forgotten. and that within a rather short timeframe. I wish the band all the best and all the success with this (and other forthcoming) releases. I'm sure there is a much better and more receptive audience outside the Northern Soul world for them.- Mixed Bag For Sale - 60s, Northern, Crossover, 70s Now With Added Popcorn
and still available!- Kings Go Forth Next Big Thing ?
I'm one of the ten who downloaded it. But have to say it was a real bastard to download. payment via paypal failed a few times, going through the whole download process again and again. was just about to give up before it finally worked fine. maybe that was another reason for the low download number?- For Sale:shufflers / George Hughley / Art Freeman / Superbs / Etc
