  1. don't take what Tim Brown says for gospel...
  2. Original by Tony Galla was on Swan too. Value? Depends on what format you want? White demo? Black issue? Yellow issue? only bootleg that I know of: yellow label, black writing. looks pretty convincing. the original yellow label issue had blue writing. official reissue: one-sided white label, black writing. done by Jayboy UK, i.e. proper reissue. I seem to recall it had a small center as well.
  3. as far as I know it's a legitimate 70s re-issue done by Dore itself. "my garden of eden" is the Entertainers IV song (at least to my ears)
  4. another and final bump. it's a bargain, Craig Moerer lists it at $600!
  5. ok, seems like I've priced it too high It's now open to reasonable offers, either cash, paypal or trades.

I thought Toby Bullard was legit? I know it's the same as the Lyrics but how about local label vs. major label release?

I think Chalky is quite correct in saying it doesn't reflect all aspects of the scene. But it sure does reflect most aspects of Northern Soul is, doesn't it? Even though I like Northern Soul with all its niches, be they R&B/crossover/beat ballads/nu soul/soulful dance, whatever, if an "outsider" asks me for a CD about Northern Soul, 90% of my picks would be from the NS Top 500.
  8. I'm still waiting for some discs coming from the states, including an ISSUE of freddie houston's "if I had known". I haven't given up hope yet despite the fact it was posted somewhere around 2000 or early 2001
  9. seller doesn't list a specific matrix no. but he lists one that either is a release number or a matrix no. : HJ7581 is this of any help? THANKS! Benji
  10. Hi, was wondering if you guys can help me. I've been after Richard Ace - Hang 'em high for quite some time now. There's a JA Harry J blank on E-Bay at the moment but it lists a- and b-side as: Richard Ace - Candy lady b/w Black & George - Hang 'em high Now that confuses me a bit, the Trojan UK release has Richard Ace - Hang 'em high b/w Black & George - Candy Lady. I asked the seller if he just mixed up the artists but he confirmed that the Richard Ace track is Hang 'em high. Can somebody please confirm that this is the record I'm after and said JA blank has the same tracks as the Trojan UK release? I don't want to spend $$$ on the wrong record. My knowledge about Ska and Reggae is rather "limited" and it happened to me before that I bought records only to find out it was the wrong version and not the song I wanted. TIA Benji
  11. Mark, why opening a separate thread for this record when you've listed it in your other sales thread as well? Or is this a different copy and I haven't noticed that?

  16. a friend of mine bought one of these acetates from r. domar, i think he bought the cairos one. definitely no shrine material, the track sounds like a 50s doo wop track and would have been very very dated if it really had been a 1965/66 production. if anyone's interested i can ask my friend if he still got it and put a scan up here...
  17. because the winning bidder will certainly be a 'fake' bidder seller won't have to pay any fees in the end i think. though seller has to go through a lot of hassle with ebay to prove that bidder is fake, i.e. non payer.
