  2. Left overs from previous sales. Mixed bag of Northern/Beat Ballads/R&B/Motown, US and Euro 45's. Please PM for further details. THE LEWIS SISTERS - YOU NEED ME - TAMLA-MOTOWN P/S - rec EX slv VG £20 What a beauty. Worldwide the only picture sleeve release for the Lewis Sisters. Pete Smith sold one for 100 a few years ago. Record looks and plays great, sleeve a bit worn tho. Priced accordingly. Lewis Sisters - you need me (clip).mp3 VELVELETTES - HE WAS REALLY SAYING SOMETHING - CBS VG++ £10 Most of the german orange CBS Motown releases bombed. And this one here is one of the rarest. Never came out with a picture sleeve so you're not missing out on one. Velvelettes - He was really saying (clip).mp3 SUGARPIE DE SANTON - A LITTLE TASTE OF SOUL - GEDINSON'S W/D (VG) - £25 Great uptempo Mod R&B from 1962. Looks VG-, starts with crackles but improves significantly later on. Check the soundfile SugarPie.mp3 JERRY GANEY - JUST A FOOL - VERVE D/J - EX - £45 One of the best beat ballads ever, period. Great Bill Madley production. Flip "Who am I" is nice too. JerryGaney.mp3 NANCY WILSON - WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE ME - CAPITOL EX £5 Just as as good as Romance Watson at a fraction of its price. Usually seen @ £15+ Nancy Wilson - Where does that leave (clip).mp3 JACKIE HILL - WON'T YOU COME CLOSER - MAR BRITT VG++ W/D £10 Looks VG+, plays much better. Midtempo Soul/Popcorn. Nice demo. Again, priced to sell (IMO) Jackie Hill - Wont you come (clip).mp3 THE JAMES BOYS - THE HORSE (voc) / THE MULE (instr) - CBS (NL) EX - £8 Original dutch issue with sleeve. Very obscure, never seen this one before. Sleeve VG++. Nice Philly collectable. "Horse" is a 'proper' vocal version of Cliff Nobles. 4. PS: Am I alone in thinking this was probably recorded at a slower speed? It sounds just a tad too fast to me...
  5. If I was a mod I wouldn't have said "please". You were referring to somebody playing a reissue instead of an original of same price. Basically another dull and boring original vs reissue post. And off-topic. But seeing others joined you now I'll leave you guys alone with yet another discussion about playing out reissues or not.
  6. When you want to discuss issues like this please open a separate thread. Thank you.
  7. and cracked, cover torn.
  8. You're right. Post free outside Germany. Think someone @ Bear Family screwed it up when he put up the auction.
  9. Post is 3,99 Euros, not free. Cheapest way is still to buy it off their website.
  10. Stand corrected then Boy, do they look cute or what?
  11. Of course it's a mock up. But nice idea nevertheless.
  12. My copy arrived two days ago. Not off centre and excellent sound quality. Well done, Bear Family.
  13. A copy of Little Stanley went for £220-ish on Ebay just recently. Didn't bother to bid as I expected it to finish much higher.
  14. Vibraton was just a low budget label that released stuff across the board, i.e. soul, classic, jazz, swing, german schlager, what have you. They weren't a major label. Most german labels used pictures of the actual artists. Yet quite often they used generic pictures. Sometimes not even of a black singer but a white singer/band.
  15. Philippe, discogs info is wrong. Release country is Germany. Cover shown is the german one. The little text underneath Vibraton logo is german.
  16. Same tracks I think but different order. Also, it's called "Thirty minutes of soul", got the titles mixed up. sorry! A1 All I Want Is You A2 Something's Wrong With My Baby A3 How Many Times A4 You Walk So Fine A5 Don't Leave Me A6 Talk About Love B1 The Soul Of A Man B2 A Woman Has A Way With A Man B3 It's Not You B4 This Is It B5 Baby Come Back B6 Nobody But My Baby Here are the details of the german Ariola 7": All I want is you/It's not you - Ariola 19554 As it happens I don't have it any longer. I used to have it but sold it before I started collecting german labels.
  17. There's another german release by Pic & Bill on Ariola. Will add details once I found it. I'm not even sure I have it though I can picture label and sleeve in my mind. Need more sleep.... Edit: The soul of a man lp came out in germany too.
  18. Easy one this. No bootleg is or should be worth more than a tenner. end of.
  19. same bloke? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp5h8eeRIXE
  20. Because they trust a seller with 5.500+ positive transaction. Foolish, yes but understandable. Edit: Like all bidders I overlooked the 70s 2nd press bit.
  21. Satin about 350/400 more likely. Bit tricky to locate.
  22. Refosoul post says it's on the "Supernatural" album. But there's no such title on the album. Only track on it written by Lou Courtney is called "What do you want me to do". Is this the one?
