  1. That`s sadly the point, most of them artists we love did earn nth at all or did not earn enough to put some aside. I mean, even JJ Barnes is working as a night guard at a Detroit newspaper these days. Surely if he would have had enough earnings from his musical career he would not need to spend his nights at this job in this day and age. And friends...well, once a person is dead the number of so called friends can rapidly shrink...especially in the music/show business. More than one example of that in the past. Having said that I can see and understand the (well meant) intention of your initial posting and don`t want to let this topic change into a "who is for and who is against it" controverse as it would simply do neither OV Wright nor this topic any justice. Marc
  2. Fantastic 45 indeed, one I haven`t heard for a long time. Got a mint one, don`t know a value, pm me. Marc
  3. Another good cause for sure, as well as at least ten others I can think of at once.
  4. Your kidding` me ? ´course I am in mate Bloody fantatsic news that is. Marc
  5. Just bumping this one up one more time
  6. You have to differentiate between the two releases of Gino Parks. The first striped one is damned hard to get...not too expensive (around 50 UKP) but really hard especially in good nick. The secod release with the Tamla globes design is not as hard but still seldomly seen. Sellls easily at about 25 UKP. If Martin Rank did not buy my last copy I may be able to help you with this. Johnnie Mae Matthews...this tune (which I loved to spin some years ago before "Dr. Truelove" by the way) on her own label is one of her most underrated tunes IMHO...rare and even rarer in good nick as most are sadly only vg plus. The one you saw on ebay was a steal and as much as I hate it to say I very much doubt you will find a cheaper copy. If I would be selling mine (which I am obviously not) it would be 75 UKP
  7. - SOLD -

MOSTLY MODERN SOUL AND BIT OF FUNK https://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZresist34Q...2QQfsooZ2QQrdZ0 Thanks for looking !
  9. I JUST CAN`T BELILEVE NO ONE HAS BOUGHT THIS...TWO TREMENDOUS SIDES, ONE A STAFFORD CLASSIC AND THE OTHER AN ACE DEEP SOUL TRACK...THE PRICE....IT`S STEAL !
  10. Sorry folks, just realized, typo in the price: 125 UKP
  11. Thats indeed....very strange maybe that was near to the end of the month though
  12. "Soul Party" very rare original and fantastic LP by Rocky Gil & The Bishops on Tear Drop Records! Both cover and record are mint minus (cover with very small sticker)! This LP includes beside other very nice tunes the Northern rarity "It`s Not The End" (usually between 500 and 750 UKP) plus the indemand "Tighten Up" "version" and title track "Soul Party" (usually around 250 UKP on 45). So you will get two floorshaking tuens for the fraction of what one of them would cots you on 45! First come, first served. 175 UKP incl. p&p (signed for airmail). Paypal payment plus 4 %. Marc
  13. Different earlier and better take. IMHO only of course.
  14. Thank you all, brilliant that so many people want to help
  15. Thanks Baz, I absolutely think the same (obviously), one of the greatest singers ever. It`s time to give some back now me thinks.. Marc
  16. Just passing this on: "For all those that love and have enjoyed the passion and soulful sounds of Mr. O.V. Wright, the MySpace O.V. Wright dedication site would like to requested your help if you can. It has become known to us that sadly, O.V.'s final resting place in Memphis is an unmarked grave. There was some confusion I guess when he passed and the net is he never did get a marker. Well the great news is a bunch of huge O.V. fans (including Red Kelly) and ex-associates and family have set up a fund to correct this. The fund is even helping to support O.V.'s widow in an attempt to receive some of the royalties from his amazing music. We know there are a lot of great causes out there you can invest your time and money in, but we hope you see fit to just pass along even a little if you can. O.V.'s music is forever. His voice I am sure is still the beautiful background vibe that fills a lot of your nights. So what you can please. We will keep you updated on progress of the fund on this page, or you can visit the O.V. memorial site directly for updates as well at https://www.ovwright.org Click the link here to donate and read more about the fund. Blessings, and all the best from the fans of Mr. Overton Vertis Wright"
  17. As the seller I can assure you it is as original as an original can be. As Sebastian stated it says so already by stating the matrix in the auction by the way. As for the price, well the last one for sale on evilbay was the bootleg that Seb sold. This went for 339 USD CLEARLY STATING ITS THE BOOT. The last other original I can find on ebay was sold in 2006 (!) for 449 USD already. The 45 is highly indemand and despite me being so 1000% tired of hearing it by crossing over to the Funk Scene attracting more interest these days as ever before. So at a "very" wild guess - yes - this record is worth 300 UKP these days. On the other hand my Wil Collins only made 300 USD+ while the two before went for nearly double that amount at 600 USD+, wonder why nobody has started a thread "JUST FINISHED: WIL COLLINS AT A MERE 300 USD, PRICES ARE DROPPING, MARKET CRASHING, SCENE IS DEAD ?" Marc
  18. Oh, and by the way, check your pm`s sam
  19. Very nice record indeed and finally seems to get the recognition it deserves. Although I must say that the sound quality is not the best IMO. Seems to have been recorded with about 25 % less volume ? Played it to a big audience in N¼nberg 2006 and several people were asking who it is. Marc
  20. Wow, indeed. What a shocking and yet so possible story in the world of Rare Soul records. And you are right, that could explain the records raritry
  21. Very strange indeed. I think it is a fantastic 45 and rarer than most people think maybe ? With a soundclip I would have imagined a much higher result as most people seem to have not knonw the tune before although it had been included an CD "recently". Marc
  22. Thats starting to get spooky indeed...you sure you are not somehow transmental connected twins who have been parted after birth ?
