  1. At a strong guess Ruth Brown -Mama he treats your daughter mean- Phillips40056 is a version of Big Maybelles Rojac 45 of the sam etitle. The Roscoe Robinson is quite a nice uptempo tune. 10 UKP.

Having seen the Fab. Playboys for as much as 100 UKP I would generally agree that it is a 50 UKP record...on Apollo...I am yet to see it on Dayco though

Oh yes, nice tune. I played it out a bit a few years ago. Isn`t that the one that came out twice on Ru-Jac, red and green label design with the green one being slightly different take and rarer ? Marc

Can`t see it falling down to 50 UKP by any chance myself and do also second you on it being a really fine piece of Detroit Northern which one should buy (if able) to PLAY, but I really really doubt the story you have been told about an ad in a newspaper... Note: I don`t doubt you have been told this story, I do only doubt wether this story is true. Thought I `d better make that clear
  12. This beauty is currently one of the hottest 45s at the Hip City Soul Club here in Berlin. Awesome tune and the best version IMVHO. So strong. It`s on Blue Soul Records. Bob Meyer also cut "Behold" for Lawn Records...

Yes, it was also rel. on the "FreeAngela Davis" LP late Sixties. Terrific 45
  19. Really Had to pay 250 UKP myself two / three years ago already
  20. What a great record that is...had totally forgotten about this beauty ...oh and of course one of my alltime favourite female tracks in the shape of Big Maybelle "Oh Lord What Are You Doing To Me" Scepter
  21. Wonder nobody yet has mentioned Rodd Keith "Like The Lord Said" Preview...needs a German protestant to come all along the way
  22. Didn`t know the Ernie lucas fact, well you live and learn Wasn`t there also another 45 played c/up as Arin Demain by George Sharp...seem to remember that this was in fact Johnny Alton "Heartbreaks" on Alpha (?). Marc
  23. Up for grabs is a highly rated and rare copy of Lord Jim & the VIP`s "You Don`t Have To Cry Anymore" on Blue Star Records. This is not only the same track as on the flipside to "Silent Treatment" (some say it is actually the better side) this IS in fact none other than Arin Demain himself. Condition of this beauty is Ex plus and it will be yours for 260 UKP. Price incl. reg airmail. Paypal only. Please pm me or send a mail to marc.forrest@gmx.net
  24. ...and it couldn`t move one single a**** to get moving last Hip City here in Berlin when I played it...not that you get me wrong , a great 45 indeed, in fact even one of my alltime faves....and also the Hip City night became very hot half an hour later on
