Agreed, some of the garbage that sells or is priced at £500+ never ceases to amaze - scarcity over quality.. But I beg to differ on this one, which is a great uptempo gritty dancer, if you can locate a EX/NM copy for a ton you're a lucky chap. ATB Greg.

You paid £80 - that's a result imho.. It's not a really tuff 45, but it's certainly not easy to come by and not for £80, I wouldn't sell mine for that anyway. A fair price for a nice clean copy - £150+ I would guess.. ATB Greg.
  3. Seb, thanks for the heads up on this one - looks really interesting. Not sure how this one has slipped the net until now? Cheers Greg.
  4. My opinion is in line with the consensus - that this is probably a reissue and not a pressing contemporary with the original Paula pressings. Why the use of a mispressed label is a bit of a mystery.. Greg.
  5. As I've just posted Matt, I was under the assumption it was a re-issue and it seems it was a legitimate pressing. But if you have any further info that it was a genuine mispress done around the time of the original release then at £45 it's not a bad buy. Just don't want to end up buying an expensive reissue Cheers Greg.
  6. That was my first thought i.e. it was a re-issue as you say Seb. But it's the description that I thought was misleading - deliberately or not. It reads: ONLY 200 copies were pressed. THIS IS A GENUINE ERROR ON THE PART OF THE PRESSING PLANT. THIS IS NOT A RE-ISSUE OR PRESSING. THE HARDEST WAY TO OWN THIS ABSOLUTE ANTHEM ! Not exactly true imho - i.e. it is a re-issue and the Paula WD is the tuffer format. Too much of this ambiguity with descriptions on Ebay and certainly a hindrance to anyone starting to collect OV Cheers Greg.
  7. Anyone for a copy of thismecca classic in its 'rarest' format! Ebay item #: 350333345430 Or direct link to item listing: https://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item51917e9e96 Seriously, is this legit or a little naughty? I know what I think but would like your sagacious opinion and feedback TIA Greg.
  8. Should be able to get a nice copy for about £75 Jason. All time classic that never fails to hit the spot! ATB Greg.
  9. Still! ATB Greg.
  10. I had a gander at that Ken and only one 'could' be the GM cut but the data in refo says 'Label: Soul-TBC' It could well be but I have no way of knowing for sure - the comparison I'm after really is GM against Bulldog.. If anybody can post up a clip of the GM cut much appreciated.. Thanks Greg.
  11. I think clear communication is key from buyer and seller - it avoids misunderstandings and messy consequences.. The thing that really astonishes me is the Wants section. I'm positive some people stick up a want for some weird kick, because on many occasions you respond to their want and never hear a dickie bird. People are strange Mr Morrison.. Greg.
  12. As the Bulldog release is generally viewed on this thread as the better one.. Can someone please either point me to, or upload, the GM version soundfile to compare against the other mixes/releases. TIA Greg..
  13. Pretty sure this is Revue 11059, if it is, flip it over for "I Can`t Do Without You" Great tune! ATB Greg..
  14. Can't understand why this isn't a bigger record.. Storming tune.. ATB Greg.

Surely not.. Picture sleeve copy of the Spanish realease of Aprieta b/w Mil Maravillas £100 - £125 tops.. Not easy to get mind and patience required but they do crop up - but if you've just got to have it the you pay the asking price.. ATB Greg..
  16. That's as cheap as you'll find it now (IMHO) as all the copies seem to have dried up.. Great tune..

Hi Kieran Here is the Charlie Harris sound clip you needed. Charlie Harris - More and More - I also recommend the Sonny Craver - great vocal.. ATB Greg..
  18. Some absolute winners on this at £4 a pop! How about this for £20: Bobby Bland/Lover With A Reputation-Duke Bunny Sigler/Let The Good Times Roll-Parkway Dells/Make Sure-Cadet Edwin Starr/Agent Double O Soul-Ric Tic Jerry Butler/Moody Woman-Mercury ATB Greg.
  19. Great double sider Mossy as Joan has pointed out. As far as I know it's a tune that has been played but it's probably more of a 'collectors tune' but nevertheless relatively well known. The key thing with Magic City records, especially Bonnie Brisker, is finding them in any kind of decent condition - I was lucky with my copy but many are pretty beaten up both label and playing surface so finding a nice copy is a real bonus. I'm sure some of the Detroit experts on here can fill you in with more info on the label itself.. ATB Greg.
  20. Russ, to be fair, two great artists chosen for the name. So, without appearing to be kissy kissy I like the c/u name.. I know that's not in keeping with the usually confrontational approach sometimes favoured but what the hell ATB Greg.

Have to say that the only thing that 'may' have misled is the label on the carver i.e. 'amy - mala test pressing' But if the bidders are spending that kind of money surely they should do their homework and link up the dots as the description clearly states 'carver' And tbh, having bought from the seller before and read his descriptions, they are consistently accurate in identifying a pressing as a reissue or 'not original' It seems the price paid is the real issue as many sellers do not describe accurately. It's buyer beware and nobody's twisting anybody's arm to pay over the odds for anything. But it's a bit unfair to harp on about an item fairly described from a seller that is genuine and provides consistently accurate identification. Regards Greg.
  22. Just sorted one of the above. As you say great tune with a nice overlooked flip. Regards Greg.
  23. Hi, Help required please with this 45. Looking for nice clean EX/NM play grade copy of the following: Barbara Mercer - Call On Me - Sidra 9012 ______________________________________________________ Please state condition of the label and vinyl - any marks, wear etc... Fast payment via Paypal for the right item. Please PM replies or Email: hotwire747-clearvinyl@yahoo.co.uk Thanks in advance... ---------------------------------------- Regards, Greg.
  24. If you're after the fast version then the one Mike has posted up is as I know, the only way to get it on vinyl. As for the unreleased Originals 'normal speed' version then there is the boot label 'boot' as Pete's pointed out, or the looky likey 'Soul' label release. Cheers Greg
  25. The label the boot was released on was 'Soul Beat' Cheers Greg.
