Tommy Turner - Lazy / Lady - Elbam
Never understood anybody paying the premium for 'Lazy' over 'Lady'. The best side anyway, IMO, is definitely the flip: TOMMY TURNER - I'LL BE GONE - Regards, Greg.

Mick, Good call on Eddie Holman - whenever I've seen him he's been great. Just wish I could add Edwin Starr to the list, R.I.P, he was ALWAYS brilliant! ATB Greg.

Youtube Links/threads - Tone Them Down
MIke, You're bang on with this request. If it's a performance of interest i.e. not available in any other format to upload to the site then youtube content is imo perfectly justified. However, if it's just a soundclip then it should be posted into refo and added to the post. Even external links to youtube are not satisfactory as the link can die and the post be ruined if the youtube video is removed. The recent modern 500 thread, although a good thread, was spoilt by the mental amount of youtube links. Please add the music to refo! Only me opinion, but I believe the point on maintaining the integrity and quality of this great forum is key. Regards, Greg.

Top Tips For 2010
Sean, Are you going to cap this one off and do the final summary? Only asking cause I want to refresh my wants and I'm too lazy to go through all the posts. And, like previous years, really good for posterity to have the summary to review at the end of the year! ATB Greg.

Funk 45 "400 Years Of What" E+ Condition £175.00
It's been a well known tune on the funk scene for some time. The a side is a great driven instrumental with tasty breaks and the flip is another good tune with a hypnotic rhythmn and well mixed chanting vocals. Although a few more have been popping up this is still very fairly priced for what is still a rarity. ATB Greg.

Vocals - Who Still Has "it"

Vocals - Who Still Has "it"
I'm with you on that one Sean. Her Fame material is really special and still great value!

Vocals - Who Still Has "it"
I think with Smokey, for me, its the sweetness in the vocal that still moves me. Did Ronnie Walker do his big numbers - which show did you see?

Vocals - Who Still Has "it"
Am not sure, no I'm 100% confident he wasn't, the tit was ever a Soul legend - although he might think he is/was. That recent album and tv appearances were proper shite! Travesty

Mark Rez Wants
Eh up Mark stay calm now! It was a rhetorical statement I'm sure Moldie is not the kind of guy who would stoop so low as to take cash for his help. I hope not anyway! Best Greg.

Vocals - Who Still Has "it"
Me and the lad were discussing which of the Soul Legends still can hit the dizzy heights of their prime. It got me thinking of some of the recent performances I've seen, Jimmy Ruffin and Martha Reeves spring to mind, where my heart sank as I heard a vocal only a shadow of its former glory. Then again I've heard vocal performances that are simply awsome - Smokey Robinson is probably the case in point. As such, I'd like to invite your input to provide your own examples of Soul Legends who still have "it". Feel free to use a wide spectrum but try to keep the focus on Legends so as to concentrate the mind on the then and now performance. If this has been done then it doesn't hurt to have an updated view - nobody's getting any younger now are they. As an example, I've included a very short clip of Smokey jamming with Jools on "You've Really Got A Hold On Me", which just knocks me socks off! ATB Greg.

Sam Dees Stereo/mono Dj Copy Price Needed
You can get a Jamaican issue for 30 -40 (recently Steve Plumb had one and so did Pat Brady - probably still do) it depends on whether you're collecting US only. You pay your money you make your choice, but 50 squid for an immaculate US demo seems fine to me. Regards, Greg.

Sam Dees Stereo/mono Dj Copy Price Needed

Jackie Moore - Do Ya' Got What It Takes
Evening, on offer here are a couple of copies of this little beauty. A superb, but currently underexposed, 70's dancer of some quality and with massive potential. The first copy on offer is a spotless copy of the very hard to find US issue, which, unlike the US Demo, includes the brilliant 'Do Ya' Got What It Takes'. For the UK collector, also on offer is the UK CBS Demo, which includes the same two cuts as the US issue, 'Do Ya' Got What It Takes' and great flip 'How's Your Love Life Baby'. This copy plays NM but I've graded as EX due to a couple of slight marks to the surface (NAP). Both are supplied in their company sleeve. Top Tips For 2010
That's right Seb, tis the same backing on both sides. But, for me , it's the "Show Stopper" side that fits best.. Strange and fickle creatures aren't we Either way it's a great piece of vinyl that is set to go.. ATB Greg.
