'I Searched for Soul and Found the Stars' missed stories
Back in November 2020 I hoped to have my book out by Christmas of that year, at the time I blamed it on the pandemic, not true. It was the printers themselves that messed me about, so I had to find a replacement printers and quick. Though getting it out by Christmas was impossible, we did manage to meet a January release. Because of me racing a few things got missed, so I have now published on here a couple articles omitted at the time of going to the printers; A lady I met in more recent times having had the pleasure of her wonderful stage appearance at the UKs Cleethorpes's Soul-Weekender, a lady who is more noted for her musical writing ability having 100 registered songs with the BMI, readers, please welcome the child prodigy, song writer and singer Sharon McMahan. Let me tell you not only is she a lovely person, she can also tell some unique stories from her memory bank and with fine detail. She said ''I ought to write a book'' and I agree, she should. Whether Sharon decides to, or not to set about that task, I'm going to pinch a couple of her stories she relayed to me recently, with her permission of course. Ollie McLaughlin made a point of travelling to New York every year and with him he took songs to 'Tin Pan Alley' to try and get deals on them. He would call on Sharon, usually once a week to check if she had any new material for him. Most Saturdays Ollie could be found at United Sound Systems recording one song or another and Sharon often joined him so she could 'watch and learn.' Don't forget Sharon was only a young girl at the time. She goes on to say, Ollie stopped by, it was a Tuesday and said he wanted a song with an English feel to it and he would call back on the Friday to pick it up. As Ollie drove off she said she ''kinda panicked a little bit'' how would she come up with something so quick? She stepped onto the porch of her mothers house where she lived and noticed two doors down Hubert a guy from the neighborhood calling round to his girlfriends house, she shouted over to this Hubert ''give me a title for a song?'' Hubert paused for a second and replied ''Some Day We're Gonna Love Again'' she said ''That will do'' went back into the house, sat down at the piano, and the rest is history of course. The song was first recorded by Barbara Lewis, and then by The Searchers, the latter becoming a hit. OK i have a few more and will post them up in the next few days. If anyone wants a book still contact me via gillybook@btinternet.com or message me on here. I've sold over a 1000 so far but still have a few left, there will be no re-prints.

'I Searched for Soul and Found the Stars'
Just had my phone call appointment from the top man at the stroke clinic, (he is a wonderful and funny man) over my well being. After a quick few questions I told him that through my book we were able to donate £521 for the KGH stroke unit, he said he wanted to buy a copy, and will send for details through his team. So, now the purchasers of the book include a very well known audio cable maker , a world renowned UK pop star, and member of a very famous group, and now this gentleman who is head of the Northampton Stroke Unit, not forgetting just over a 1000 music fans world wide. I'm very proud today, thank you Gilly

Ravins On Ristic
As far as i know i had the first copy of this 45 in 1988 from Dave Hamiltons house, i only bought it as i like the slow side. To me the slower side sounds black in voice, or he has a very good voice in black sounding. My copy went to Chris Ashby, don't remember what year though, he has recently sold it to Steve Green.

'I Searched for Soul and Found the Stars'
Hi everyone, as far as I know we are up to date with book orders, paid and dispatched. (990 so far) and of course many thanks to the people who have supported me in this project, and happy to have sent £500 to Kettering General Hospital. There has been a few people who have asked where their book is, and the main reason for any delay is payment has been sent to the wrong address or bank transfer details have been incorrect. If you are awaiting a book that you believe has not reached you please get in touch so we can rectify the problem. I will remind you of the payment details : PayPal gillybook@btinternet.com or Bank Transfer Richard Gilbert 07-16-60 66603373 Don't forget your ref details and address, so many people have not done this. Book - I Searched For Soul and Found The Stars - Gilly
in its day it was a Chicago bible, but like most things, remember that was pre internet, so much more information has come about. A little like the old Philadephia book, then Dave Moore wrote his fine book that blew that out of the water

'I Searched for Soul and Found the Stars'
Early New Year will hopefully bring a delivery of my forthcoming book 'I Searched for Soul and Found the Stars' this year has been traumatic for everyone, and no less for this pre-planned Christmas stocking filler in the form of a book that made it impossible to deliver on time. Of all the 100s of orders, not one person has faltered from their original interest in buying a copy. (I thank you) I've started to take a small deposit. (this will not affect the original list of orders sent to the dedicated email address should it go over the 1000 mark (its getting close) and qualify you for a free CD) Please send £5 to PayPal gillybook@btinternet.com If you don't use PayPal just send me a private message. Many thanks, I'ts going to happen soon
