  17. I thought it was an excellent programme , good appearances by Clay McMurrey and Scott Reagan , well presented by Martin Freeman , would love to walk into Peoples records , a vinyl paradise !! .I note that Jack Ashford didn't appear with the Funks , also considering this was probably filmed a while back , wouldn't it have been nice to have had an appearance from Mike Terry ? Too short a programme , but very enjoyable .Best,Eddie

You're correct that a lot of people were leaving the scene Pete , but DJ's like Richard S. and Gary Rushbrooke were keeping the flag flying at Wigan with some of the best ever discoveries IMO, like Mr Soul , The Combinations , Jimmy Delphs, Eric Mercury , Johnny Honeycut , Ernestine Edie etc .Also it's been largely airbrushed out of Northern Soul history , but Keith Minshull was playing some great sets of forgotten oldies .Best wishes ,Eddie
  19. Not a dancer , but if you dig the slower end of Crossover then David Morris " Come watch my train go by " [Jamie ] is unbeatable as a great Philly Soul record , bit like Tom Clay " What the world needs now " pace wise , a Funk tip that could crossover in the current climate is Winfield Parker " Shake that thing " [Arctic ], another modernish dancer that's doing it for me at the mo' is Marvin Sims " Love is on the way " [Rivertown ] .Love the Grover Mitchell " I gotta keep movin ' " tipped a couple of pages back , think I'll give that a spin at Banbury tonight .Great thread very educational !! Best wishes ,Eddie
