Maye Luquet from New Orleans used to trade on ebay, but not noticed any items from her of late. She bought a load of stuff from a warehouse at one point and was listing 'em in quanities of 100 or so at a time on ebay. Bought loads of her a few years back...anyone dealt with her lately?

No probs, even at $180 I would not have bid due to reasons I mentioned, so in the circumstances you were in the best position to bid and pick up. Result....hope it comes good for ya! Mind you, El Cerrito sounds like Bandit Country to me...think I'd rather risk meeting a stranger in Dudley with £600+ in me pocket Take some mates and a big f*ck off piece of 3x 2 with you just in case. Have they got a bar in the dessert like 'Dusk till dawn' with 'Every kinda pussy' If so don't meet the seller there mate, at least not after dusk anyway...

Nice one Interested to know if you asked if you could pick it up in person before bidding and if the seller agreed. If I had known I would have bid and asked you to collect for me Please let us know how you get on so as to quell our suspicious minds

Sorry to any potential bidders, but gotta be worth a discussion this one. https://cgi.ebay.com/JACKIE-DAY-Want-Your-L...1QQcmdZViewItem Not risking a bid myself cus I'm put off by low feedback and comment in description about not phoning to hear sides cus it's already packaged..................................but would you? Discuss folks..........

I presume your bald look is natural, so wondered how you looked when you actually had a full head of hair...been as you have an unnatural everlasting interest in mine

If he was insured do you think his mates would come on here with a begging bowl? Shit happens to us all Pete - as well you know, and the last thing people wanna hear is what they could have done to prevent being in the position they are in.

Not sure he has a p.c. Pete, and not sure if that reply is meant to be sarcastic or not.

Nice one Nige, bring it with ya. I've got a spare mixer somewhere so looking good. As for Insurance Pete, the guy obviously didn't have it, so although he might find such advise useful in future, I don't think he really wants to hear about what he should / could have done at the moment cus his head is in the shed big time. Regards Mace.

Would them be the days when the U.S. dealers hadn't got a clue what the records were worth and you could pick the rare beauties up for less than the price of bottle of Bud?? I've collected for 20 years+, and though I still trawl through boxes at venues and lists and sales tapes / CDs, I use ebay more than any other source cus you can fit it in to your lifestyle as and when it suits. I also find a lot of the old school record dealers resent ebay because it has opened up the sources of such gems to the whole world, so they no longer have such exclusivity on acquiring the records as they once had. Their loss is our gain in that aspect, but ebay, combined with the various price guides that have sussed up 90% of U.S. dealers, have pushed prices up on the more indemand items. The dealers have, on the whole followed suit with their prices, and most have been quite happy to do so (how many times do you hear 'that fetched a lot more than that on ebay last month' or 'it's that price in Manships') Can't have your cake and eat it unfortunately.........................

Sure Paul Cross mentioned it to me a few weeks back. Can't remember who's taking it on now...pretty useless post then... other than its gives me a chance to plug Bidds Allnighter on yet another thread Regards Mace
  19. So Linda, do tell what the offending articles are so we can all avoid the same mistake Think it's common name is 'Allniteritis' Common symptons include Ageing maturity, glue ear, Tinititus, 'chewing gum ache' and sleep deprevation (usually coupled with talking shite), which are enhanced and aggrevated by any unfounded belief that you have excess cash burning a hole in your pockets (though dodgy headphones or run down batteries in record players could also be to blame)
  20. Mark - just PMed you Kev Birchalls number. Let me know if it doesn't arrive and I'll email you. Regards Mace.
