  4. Hi everyone! I've done a mix with some rare and some not so rare sweet soul 45s and a few nice gospel slowies. I hope you will enjoy it. It features the red label version of Hunt's determinations - Are we through and flipside of Henry C and the Ivyleaguers among others... https://www.mixcloud.com/samuelhugosson/this-may-be-the-last-time/ Tracklist: Little Melvin and the Boleros - I'm in love - Valarie Us Everyday People - You're the one for me - L.B.J. Hunt's Determinations - Are we through - Earwax The Fantastic Goldenaires - Thank you lord - Pinewood Henry C and the Ivyleaguers - Can't do without her - Action The Amazing Aires - His Will - Van Harmonics - Let me go - Goldplate Tyrone Ashley - Let me be your man - Phil La of Soul Attractions - Think back - June Bug Moments - All I Have - Stang Indiana Travelers - This may be the last time - Indiana Travelers The Jades - My loss your gain - Poncello
  5. Forgot that I already had heard the flip to Zeke and the Soul Setters... Clip on youtube.
  6. Zeke and the soulsetters may be cheaper, but it seems to be really rare. Btw I need to hear the flip to this one as well...
  7. Can anyone shed som light on the flipside to their other release. Seems to be very rare as Nev said as I have no other reference than that cd. I really like the unique sound of this band...
  8. Thanks Bearsy for posting the clip. Not one of the best sides by that band in my opinion. Love the guitar work though!
  9. Anyone know what the b-side is like? I'd really love to hear this so if anyone could point me in the direction of a soundfile I'd be really happy. If I remember this right they have another release on bang bang as well called "Soul searching love" or something like that...
  10. That alternative mix of The Same Old Thing...? Is there a soundfile somewhere? Don't think I've ever heard that. Thanks!
  11. Their singing sounds different too when you listen to the two tracks...
  12. If you listen to the flip of Henry C it does not sound blue eyed...
  13. Love the Lee Tillman version. Played this in Stockholm a few months back...
  14. I was not aware of Wilson Pickett's version. They both have their charm...
  15. I can really recommend swanflight as well! Cheap and great quality!
  16. Now you've got my attention! A soundfile perhaps?
  17. Sweet! I have a few records that skips. I will try this to see if I'm able to save them.
  18. Both of the Ringleaders tracks are excellent! I have ordered both 45s and I am eagerly waiting for delivery. The stand out track for me though is the Sharpees "take me to your leader". The horn arrangement in the chorus is mindblowing. Both uptempo tracks will definitely be played by me next time I DJ! Btw, is there another version of the Sharpees Take me to your leader? I got a notion of recognition...
  19. I'm all for 60's newies. I listen to a few funky bits as well mainly because it's so hard to find 60's records that are new to me. When I collect I'm looking more for newies than classics... Concerning Henry C, it was new to me when I first heard it a year ago (I know, I should get out more often) and it is as good as the top ten classic 60s records for me. Simply amazing!
  20. Top sounds Niklas! I really enjoyed your sets.

Still looking for this: Henry C and the Ivy Leaguers - Country Girl - Action. Condition doesn't matter that much as long as the copy plays good. PM me please.
  22. A friend of mine had an acetate like that. Think he sold it through Manship's site a few years ago. Can't remember any more details though...

And the flipside is a fantastic sweet cut... If you're into that kind of stuff... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVwZkSUjYpU

I just love the bass vocalist. Not that many groups around had that sort of deep bass in the vocals. Combinations inc. on Arc-Lark spring to mind...
