  2. I put out a new mix on mixcloud sharing a few rare semi known tunes that I really like. Will post a full tracklist a little bit later but here’s the link for now...
  3. Thanks! Glad you guys liked it!
  4. I finally took the time to set a new mix together just in time for the best part of summer. Focus is midtempo to uptempo tunes. A lot of rare ones in this mix. It starts off with an unreleased tune from Leon Ware taken from an original acetate, an obscure Detroit soul pearl from Lee Moore, excellent vocal performance from Big Jay, another outing from the same Harmonics that brought us "Be your man" and some LP tracks. I also added two alternative mixes taken from an acetate of the classic Watson and the Sherlocks double sider on Soulville with references to Tru Glo Town on the acetate... Comments on the musical content of this mix are welcome! Tracklist is featured below. https://www.mixcloud.com/samuelhugosson/my-heart-is-true-northern-soul-crossover-soul-and-funk/ 1Time won't get you out of my mind by Leon Ware 2My heart is true by Peter and the Wolfs 3The heart of a woman pt 1 by Lee Moore 4Let me say it again by Demands 5Here I stand by Ghetto Children 6Standing on the corners - unreleased mix by Watson and the Sherlocks 7Let's get together and love by Rance Allen Singers 8Do you remember Malcolm by Bongi and Nelson 9Theme from Greene sisters by Greene Sisters 10Time after time by Bill Brandon and the Soul Injections 11Which way by Harmonics 12Funky walk - unreleased mix by Watson and the Sherlocks 13Who knows better than me by Big Jay 14Love built on a strong foundation by Soul Blenders

  6. Hi all! Last mix from me this year. There's a focus on uptempo tunes in this mix. A few funk bangers from Wayne Carter and the Debonaires. We have an unissued unnamed acetate which I believe is William Powell's demo take of "You Can't Have Your Cake" later issued on Melatone by Lela Martin. A real classy gospel funk gem from the Masonic Allstars and a true northern allnighter sound from Sir Thompson. A little bit of everything as usual: the rare, the cheap and the plain good ones. All from original 45s. Playlist as follows: Tracklist 1. Lawdy Rolla - Guerillas 2. Real Love - Sir Thompson 3. You can't have your cake - William Powell 4. I gotta hear it from you - Ronnie North 5. Peter in or out - Wayne Carter 6. Stop let's be united - Debonaires 7. Won't you let me know - Del-Cords 8. How much longer - Billy Young 9. Freedom road - The Pharaoes 10. Stand up - Masonic Allstars 11. Take me as I am - The Luscious Three 12. Time to love - Candy Coated People 13. Love music - Sergio Mendes 14. Let me down easy - Liquid Smoke 15. Fever -Carlo
  7. Thanks for a great night out Carl. Great music and friendly people!
  8. This is my contribution to soul cool guest list. Assembled a few scratchy 45s that could appeal to a wider audience...? Full tracklist included. Rare soul, crossover, northern and a few with a funky touch. Enjoy!
  9. Around 16 minutes into the mix... Will get around to sort the track list later I hope...
  10. Well... The hysteria is here. And here's how to cure it... Latest mixcloud upload from me with emphasis on sweet soul and crossover. Downtempo to ensure you all guys take deep breaths and relax properly... Think it turned out quite nicely. If someone can tell me more about the Pat Livingston track featured I'd be happy. Still like to know if this take on Elco is the same take/mix as the U-tone release... Appreciate it if someone will tell me... Thanks! Samuel
  11. Will go check again in better light this time. Did not see the reversed S... Does the record with the other label play the same tune?
  12. LO_001-A (B) (bellsound stamp?) 88781 (inverted numbers), other side: same thing with B instead withouth the bellsound stamp. Hope that helps. My copy was laying around when I read this...
  13. Arssoul productions... Haha! Looks like you had a fab time.
  14. Bleu lights and Sunny Ridell on hold
