TIM, finally relenting and dusting off the vinyl exclusive and rarities, as with his opposite number at the top of Shaw Wood Road in Mankinholes, Mr. GINGER TAYLOR.....DOUBLE DYNAMITE💥 PLUS BILL MURRAY ( no, not the Hollywood movie star, though he wishes he had his money!🤣🤣 ), should make for great listening and a few moves no doubt....and if you fancy a great teatime treat to suppliment a fantastic night of quality soul, the BEST Curry house in WEST YORKS, is across the road...plus a great pint of Cobra!🍺🍺🍺 🎵💃🕺🎶😉👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏

With reference to THIS forthcoming event, Russ Reeves is now the only person with any tickets as the news today, reveals the box office has formally sold the allocation so, the 250 capacity set for this dvening, has been reached!. Needless to say, if youre now hunting for one, the place to be is: THE CHURCH, THIS SATURDAY!. Bear in mind: there is NO ADMISSION on the night at Anstice without a ticket/NO pay on the door. I was aware that coaches ran from the Cats to Blackpool Mecca, and Wigan, but not to the Torch?, obviously that wouldve had to have happened as the ad date suggests: 72, as that venue's closure was imminent ( the Cats closed maybe a year after the Torch? ) dont know of anyone still alive who did the coach trips to any of them although its highly likely there are a good many who are still with us who did just that, but personally i dont have any recollection.....maybe thats an idea for folk on this thread to fill in the blanks, give us all a better picture of what it was like and their experiences.

As has been said before, a hidden gem of a venue, great setting as well, lovely and dark, creating a condusive atmosphere...a bit like the Tardis, no giveaways on the outside but once in...low slung ceiling, perfect accoustics, and a welcoming feel, and great company and smiles from regulars and visitors alike....almost the weekend again then?, it soon comes round!, bring a few extra quid with you as well and hopefully, snap up some tickets for the Big One at the Anstice in Madeley.😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶

Getting good views!, that encouraging as a sell out is anticipated so, please obtain your tickets whilst you can as there will be NO pay at the door procedure. A management meeting with Roger this mornkng, has confirmed the use of Talc within the premises as strictly FORBIDDEN. PLEASE respect their wishes and do not attempt to bring in, or put any talc on the dancefloor. Its not suggested there will be a bag search or other, but its probably likely and anyone attempting to ignore this, may be asked to leave the premises. We know this building in recent years, has had a fantastic refurbishment, including the dancefloor which is top notch...as a result talc or anything else, isnt a necessity and the usage of it will not be allowed.

Roger France has informed me that a meeting is being held at the Anstice tomorrow to discuss what beers/drinks will be supplied or suggested for the event. He advises that the issue of talc will be raised too.

Just some important information about PARKING: There is a small car park to the rear of the Anstice building. Directly across the road from the hall is a large Tesco with ample parking at the rear. It may be possible, of course, to park on the high street, not sure about dbl yellow lines or charges but presume that dosnt apply after 6pm...hopefully those details will be checked and confirmed.

Not enough superlatives to describe or bestow on the genius that was, Burt Bacharach...he personified that cool elegance of the 60's whilst pop went manic. So many wonderful colloberations with Hal David too, spawning unrivalled hit after hit with Dionne Warwick....and the movie scores sizzled, big arrangements for oscar winning films that brought him oscars too. He articulated with every musical genre. Our generation, in particular, he resonates with....we above all others, will miss him the most.....really? He's a great loss to ALL, and the world will never forget that, his music will stand the test of time, long after we're all gone too... February already!, and another session of quality music across the board, something for everyone...talc is definitely a no need and no want with this dancefloor!, great response from our supporters last month, much appreciated and plenty of great pics as well. Thanks to Barbara Biddulph giving it a plug on her live stream and to Dave Thomas at Stafford fm, for featuring it in his Whats aOn guide.

Wow!, instant response, and thanks to Jayne & Barbara for already voicing their opinion, its open house now to anyone to pass their comments, so lets hear them. There is a window of less than 9 weeks to advertise to the maximum, lets create the interest. Anyone care to share their memories of this place, previous functions whether recently or years ago, photographs, flyers, the music that was played, how far youve travelled to attend or where youre planning to come from now, whether a newcomer to the scene or a seasoned soulie...all the stories and anecdotes, so everyone gets a good vibe about the event to come. The music will cater to all, not leaving any stone unturned, itll cover the genres from 60 club classics, Motown, Northern, Crossover, 70's and rnb, all part of the umbrella that we call the scene now. Roger France & Lester will no doubt add some gravitas to proceedings here, any information as it happens, will be posted here, including the all important tickets, and we'll get an image up of them as soon as we have one. 😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
