  1. Yeah you're right Mark, they also had a 'Stateside' allnighter...I went to a Wigan revival allnighter (at the casino) in December 77, still have a tape of it.
  2. VG/VG+...any offers?
  3. Oh well, looks like the rest of the population disagree, not a single bid!
  4. Somewhat typically, it doesn't work for me. Can anyone make heador tail of the error message? Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

Yeah / no / don't know....I kind of like him but wouldn't consider myself a fan but I'm not really a lover of artists, more of records they made. If you'd have asked me that question when I was 15 I'd have said he was the greatest thing since the spacehopper...

    Surely some mistake...
  8. Proof of postage won't help, paypal will give him his money back. It needs a signature.
  9. Spanner is on this forum Rod. he can usually be found in topics to do with John Manship, as he is his special friend.

I didn't think there was much point in sending up The Israelites or It Mek or 007 as everyone knows them but you may enjoy these two, the first is a frantic and pretty joyous ska outing called This Woman which came out on Island in 64...the second is from three years later and is a mellow rocksteady tune called Unity. Have a listen, hope you like them, RIP Desmond.
  13. Seeing as I collected nothing but UK labels for a decade, I can't believe this one slipped through but I can honestly say that I had no idea that this record was released in the Uk until I got a copy last week!
  14. yes but with a sniper you can be safely tucked up in bed and your pc doesn't even have to be switched on and you still win the record!

I wrote an article for that magazine, the biggest article anyone has ever written for any magazine I should think (link to it below) https://www.raresoul.co.uk/blackmusic.html anyway like I said, it must have been about 14 pages long. I didn't even get a free copy of the mag sent to me n.b. most have you have probably read that article anyway but the spelling errors were caused by the scanning software
  16. Have chucked it on ebay in case anyone is interested.... https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  17. 50 downloads...anyone listened to it?
  18. Cover of Jeanette Williams. Couldn't sell an unplayed Polydor demo so only about a tenner tops really. Shame it's not the other one (It's The Little Things)
  19. Happy to sell it Mark!
  20. Thought you might like to hear this, it's quite pleasant. Unfortunately the first half is very "girl from ipanema", it gets better half way through and finishes strongly, so I'm not for one minute saying this is great or anything, it's just an unusual thing I found so being benevelant, I thought I'd share it with you lot.
  21. They couldn't even get the title right - Junction at the Fuction (instead of Function at the Junction)
  22. I like Run For Shelter. Ian, Philips and Mercury were part of the same set up along with Fontana, hence the Philips acetate label. I've had a couple of these before also...one was by Brian Connell & The Round Sound which I thought would be the guy who went on to be the singer in The Sweet but it turned out not to be and I'd wasted £2
  23. I think you'll find this is a version of the Walker brothers song, not the Esther Phillips one. Came out on UK mercury and is only worth a fiver.
  24. The isntrumental version was posted up on the sounds page on here a year or so ago, I swore it was Hippo who posted it but I think he said it wasn't him, but it was definitely the instrumental also known simply as "the Dance Track" when played by Sir John of Vincent.
