  1. As Bob says above, thankfully the giant stain has disappeared after 24 hours but the sellotape stains remain. I'm now wondering if there is any actual residue to remove or is it just a stain on the actual paper which will never come off, here's a better photo.
  2. Mamie Galore was never booted Steve.
  3. No you're not being daft, despite special delivery costing a minimum of £5.90 in the Uk, they will only allow you to charge £4. It's a joke.
  4. It takes a lot for me to get excited over a record nowadays. I just got excited! What a beauty - only the second I've ever seen.
  5. Sticky Stuff Remover didn't work and has a left a huge stain on the label, fingers crossed it will dry out!
  6. I've actually got some of this already, now why didn't I think of that! (Thanks to everyone who has offered advice by the way)
  7. That must be one of the first WD's they did. Nice.
  8. Didn't know there was a demo, not that I've looked for one.
  9. Well it's the correct design for the year that it came out basically.
  10. That's an original.
  11. What does anyone think - lighter fuel used to be the thing most people recommended, what about nail varnish remover, something like that? The last thing I want to do is discolour the rest of the label though. Any help appreciated.
  12. You are correct young man
  13. Not really a comedy sale, well maybe it is, this has got to be one of the worst concepts in picture sleeves I've ever seen https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOKENS-Lion-Sleeps-Tonight-1961-German-original-picture-sleeve-45-sexy-/400275087018?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item5d32411eaa#ht_500wt_1180
  14. Lou, as the owner of these recordings you can get these removed by ebay, I'm certain.
  15. If I hadn't picked one up on saturday I would have made you an offer you couldn't refuse for that Chubby Checker!
  16. But if you (not you literally) were going to do a basic bootleg, white labels, with the vat it'd still only be £400 and if you sell those at £10 a time - well you can understand why there are so many on ebay.

  18. Paul - these people keep sending me 'special offers', prices are ridiculously cheap, I will reprint the advert as soon as I find it so you know I'm not bullsh*tting you
  19. FREE TO WATCH! https://vimeo.com/36233709 Welcome to the first Vinyl Gems of 2012. When I completed this one, it was 72 minutes long so I've had to completely remove one section, fortunately for most of you watching, it was the Popcorn/Teen/Early 60's section. This episode sees the return of the Ska/Reggae section, and there's a good selection of British Beat this time as well, along with some rare Northern Soul 45's. (Following the Bobby Lewis record near the start, I mention Kell Osbourne and Cleveland Robinson, this was in connection with a song called Mr. Wishing Well by nat King Cole, but that was part of the segment that was edited out, so the commentary makes no sense at that point!). Artists this episode: The Shirelles, Bobby Lewis, Lesley Gore, The Three Bells, The Dallas Boys, Tony Jackson & The Vibrations, The Action, Barbara Ruskin, The Youth, David Bowie & The Lower 3rd, The Dodos, Thee Soul Agents, The Quik, Nino Temple & April Stevens, The Riots, Delroy Wilson, Prince Buster, Dennis Alcapone, The Heptones, Pat Kelly, The Upsetters, Anonymously Yours, Anita Bryant, Gerry Dorsey, Barry Young, The Strange Bros. Show, American Youth Choir, Heather, Helen Shapiro, Mike Vickers, Jackie Burns & The Belles, Johnny Nash, Wayne Gibson, Clem Curtis, Sacha Distel.
  20. Agree with all of the above
  21. Mick Smith's got a pale blue 1st issue demo in his box for £25
  22. Wow, result! I'd still only value it at £25 though! I don't think ANY Grapevine is worth more than £50 - and I have them all.

No I'm pretty sure it's just the ridiculous price it made at auction Dave. We see it every week with some bog-standard item given a big build up, selling for ten times it's value and then every one with a copy takes that as the new set sale price.
  24. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Record Wants
This record is worth £40 - £50, then manship auctions one and some muppet pays double what it's worth, and suddenly it's worth £90 - £100. There are way too many sheep and not enough shepherds on this scene. If he sold footsee for £200, would you lot all start selling it for £200? Don't answer that, I know what the answer is.
