  1. Not in this collection Neil, sorry. PM'd you.
  2. I'm thinking of selling all my UK stuff again - all the stuff you've seen on those films I made plus loads more - I just want to gauge the interest because I'm contemplating sticking them on Ebay over the next few weeks rather than doing a set sale. So can you let me know if you would be interested in a UK labels list. It also includes the beat and psych stuff as well as the Northern. If I decide to do it as a list, I'll send out an advance one to anyone who replies. I've got some decent stuff (Breakout demo, Fortune Teller demo, Vala Reegan, both Helen Shapiros, Jerry Jackson demo, Astors demo, but lots of gems at the lower end, 15-30 quid type things, stuff you rarely see, especially girl groups and solos) PM me or email if you want a sneak peek list cheers Pete PM ME FOR THE LIST, HAVE A READ, THEN IF YOU WANT ANYTHING LET ME KNOW BY EMAIL OR PM AND I'LL SEND YOU THE EXACT DESCRIPTION THEN YOU CAN DECIDE IF YOU WANT IT pete.smith@freeuk.com
  3. Has it? Not seen one yet. Love that record.
  4. I think I'd better stay away from this particular topic.
  5. I'd love to own something like that, I could sell all of my original records and replace them with copies.
  6. No it was just two people, they had their own recording studio facilities where they did production and record cutting mainly for the dance scene.
  7. I've seen LP's cut down also - it was the Kiki Dee Motown album with More Today Than Yesterday on it.
  8. Get your facts right before making smart arse comments like that. "Good on Dave", f*cking pathetic.

  10. Dave Rimmer playing the Vondells at Hednesford and announcing "Pete Smith this is what an original sounds like" as I'd dared to play a dub of it a few weeks earlier.
  11. No, not in the slightest. Unless you include SS custom productions of a year later. If you were in M's, then yes. But I wasn't there in 73 and I doubt the author was either, and if he was, I doubt he was climbing on the stage and keeping an eye on the decks all night.
  12. And if you believe anything in that book, you'll believe anything
  13. Surprised this thread hasn't been closed seeing as he didn't buy it anyway...
  14. A lot of this depends on the venue. If I was asked to dj at the local working mens club, I know it's going to be mainly people out to have a drink and a laugh, a social thing more than anything else, I'd just take a box of old favourites and not be bothered what labels they were on because nobody is interested. On the other hand, let's say I was offered a spot at Kings Hall, I wouldn't play anything except original vinyl out of respect for the organisers, the punters, and myself. So I suppose the answer to the original question is that it depends on the circumstances.
  15. That Marvels is a ten bob record.
  16. I can replace that for you if you really want it..
  17. Rob, can you or can you not see Jethro and Steve Powell? I rest my holdall.
  18. It's a moot point but I reckon that could be a legit release because he would have had to have gained access to the Soultown master tapes to get hold of the instrumental version.
  19. OK I should have actually watched the clip properly - I was thinking of some footage in the Way Of The Crowd film which I was certain was shot specifically for it.
  20. Er, In Other Words is by The Fascinators, a male group, GI Joe is by a female group
  21. Way Of The Crowd I think mate.
  22. The first clip is definitely Footsee on Top Of The Pops. The second, sorry don't know where that originated but saw it again recently in a documentary Pete Waterman did which was shown on Central tv only. Third is specially shot footage from a few years back made to look like it's old, I believe.
  23. Listed it and sold it Nev. Probably too cheap.
