Souled Out
Yes it was, people always get that quote wrong, it's right at the end of No Fun at the Pistols last ever gig at Winterland, san Francisco: "Ha ha, ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Goodnight"

Paradox - Ring The Changes
Thats not a valid question, I mean, how much is george lemons? Loads. Is it any good? No. PLus I still say it's not worth anything like £200. £125 tops.

Paradox - Ring The Changes
I know what you mean dave, there's always someone who's got it or had it before, so best to go with your opening statement about giving it exposure I suppose because nobody can ever be certain. Had anyone ever heard ketty Lester "some things" before I 'exposed' it - no, I don't think they had, but it was passed on to me by someone else.

(Ebay) 'get Out' Clause ?

Souled Out
Where've you been Andy, you haven't been on for ages have you?
-
(Ebay) 'get Out' Clause ?
Thats me. I thought I'd worked the postage out to 2 quid but then realised it wasn't so I changed it on whatever I could to $3.50, which is about 1.80, which is my usual rate for 1st class recorded. The reason I 'went international' as you put it, was to get maximum exposure and not have to list in the shitty UK ebay soul section!

This Weeks Northern List Part 2
Sorry, bit of a bump but apologies to anyone waiting for sound clips, will definitely get them to you tomorrow sometime.

Aaarrgghhh! Wombat Im Gettin' On Life?
That handwritten Archer is a boot too. I reckjon theres at least 4 maybe 5 different bootlegs of this, I know I've never had a real one (I thought the Archer scratch in was real at first) as for the record - was massive when I first got into Northern. Not an all time favourite but I really like it.

Don't You Dare Laugh At Me
Fantastic - only one problem - we have a meeting with Santander business manager at 1.30 and have to drop the kids off at 12, so if I'm not there, I'm really sorry, but you can just leave it in our parking space next to the red nissan if thats ok. Thanks Sian

Paradox - Ring The Changes
Christ I don't know..."the eighties"...came from a shop in Brighton. Bought in on the off chance that it might be the vocal without hearing it, before then, it had never been mentioned, played or appeared in RC price guide or any label listings. Got a Maxine Brown French EP with Am i falling in love at the same time, £15 the two so it must have been late 80's.

Don't You Dare Laugh At Me
F*ck off, the lot of you

Paradox - Ring The Changes
It's alright but never £200. Did I ever tell you it was me who discovered the vocal to this?
-
Pat Lewis - No One To Love - Solid Hit
By the way, first I want to stress that this is not my record, it's someone who's not on soul source and I just said I'd send it up, and to save everyones time and effort, he wants a minimum of £200 for it. Like I said, not my record.

Don't You Dare Laugh At Me
You couldn't make it up. I got this vinyl record to fix for someone, it had a one inch crack at the edge, so I manipulated the vinyl so that the break was super smooth and shouted for Davina to get the superglue - I wanted her to put a tiny blob right on the edge of the record to seal the crack. So I'm holding the crack together tightly, she puts the glue on the spot where I told her to, but she put too much on and before I could do anything, my left index finger was stuck to the b side of this record. Not just the tip of my finger, nearly all of the top of my finger was stuck like cement. So then I started to panic, I have a 7" record stuck to my finger, I feel like one of those Amazonian tribesmen who have the plates stuck in their lip, how am I going to drive with a record stuck to my hand? I have to pick Sam up from school in 10 minutes, maybe I should wear a giant oven glove and tell the other parents that I was in the middle of cooking and didn't notice I hadn't taken the glove off? Eventually I soaked my hand and the record in hot water and then tried to cut the glue off, still not working, so eventually I just ripped it off, leaving half my skin stuck to the b side of this record. All this time Davina was laughing so hard she was turning red and I thought she was going to explode. Mick Smith phones, Davina answers the phone and tells him I can't come to the phone because I have my hand stuck to a record with superglue and the fire brigade are on their way. Bitch. So anyway, the record got fixed, it clicks a few times but plays fine, the B side however does not play because my finger is still stuck to it. Don't you dare laugh at me!
-
Pat Lewis - No One To Love - Solid Hit
What a shame - but it does play despite a major crack - the B side does not play at all. The crack is such that you have to manipulate it to get the vinyl to match up - I've had it play without a single skip, next time it's skipped a dozen times. I've not tried playing it with a weighted tone arm. It will play. Then again, it's be nice in a frame :-) I know a few people were interested in this when I mentioned it so I'll put it up for any offers. By the way, first I want to stress that this is not my record, it's someone who's not on soul source and I just said I'd send it up, and to save everyones time and effort, he wants a minimum of £200 for it. Like I said, not my record.

Great stuff. Books at 75. LUTHER INGRAM – EXUS TREK / IF IT’S ALL THE SAME TO YOU BABE – HIB VG+ 185 SOLD This is the extremely rare light green press which books at £500 (uk) in the latest manship price guide. It's pressed on vinyl, not styrene so there's no hiss for a start. As you can see by the photos, https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110486067852&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT it has some water damage on the label. The white mark on the vocal side is some sticker residue which will come off. Condition wise, this is one of those 'miracle' records which appears to have lived it's life without a sleeve, is well marked, but plays beautifully. Visually it's glossy but has many marks and it's visual grade is vg. But play it and you are in for a surprise, both sides play "ex", in fact the sound quality on exus trek is better than any of the bootlegs, mint or not.
