Probably Not Orig', But Is It Worth Owt?
What, an original Matta Baby for £6? Pink label? Thats a fantastic bargain, I paid £80 last time. I don't think The Gig is worth more than a tenner though. Bloody awful record, never broke out of Cleethorpes.

The Yum Yums - Re-release
Max, I'll buy you a pint if I'm wrong but they were done in 77 - Eddie Regan was done at the same week and they both appeared in limited quantities. The source was an ex Wigan dj.

Ian Levine, Motorcity, Centre City, Blackpool Mecca, And Swons
I got this overnight... Hi We don't know each other but you have just posted about me on Soul Source - would I have the balls to say it to his face- well the answers yes but that;s not why I'm writing. Your friend Ian got me thrown off soul source after a couple of postings but whatever. I'd be grateful if you would let him and the rest of Soul Source know that my reviews on Amazon are honest and unbiased. In fact of the seven cds he mentioned this evening I have today given rave 5 star reviews to two of them. I would also ask that you let Mike Hughes know that I'm not best pleased to be slagged off without the right to reply. Let him have my email address if he wants to contact me . many thanks Frank Kirkham

Bombay Label
I've got that Jean Carroll but it's with a pile of unsleeved junk so it'll take me a while to find it. I bought it blind but both sides are terrible. late 50's or early 60's.

wonder who bought my Pye issue of the Jones Brothers, one of only two known to man. Ian, just thought you might be interested to hear... One turned up on Will Johnson's list today, Pye issue, £150.

Too Many Events; A New Slant On An Old Topic, Are The Paying Public Asking For Them? Part 2
To be fair - Pep used to put on do's in Walsall in the 80's and used to put on sandwiches at that as well.

Anthony White - Reset To Zero - On Radio 2 Now
For those who haven't heard it, here it is. I've faded it out so that the last minute is missing

Annabelle Fox
I couldn't get anyone to buy it when I had it for sale - it was 250 - think I took 200 in the end - that was one of the reasons I stopped buying expensive records to sell on.

The Yum Yums - Re-release
Have to say that I have both the original and the bootleg and I have played it in every set I've ever done I think - but I've never taken the original out of the house!
-
The Yum Yums - Re-release
Yeah it is, thats a record I've never let go as it has to be up there as one of my top 5 I think

The Yum Yums - Re-release

Hang on a bit and I'll photograph both the original and the boot and put them side by side- The Yum Yums - Re-release
Good grief, why would you pay that much? Since I've been back here I've listed that boot 3 times and never asked more than 30 quid for it.- Finishing Tonight On Soulbid
I think that's true as well, sadly. If you've got something like The Arabians and bid 120 to make 20 or 30 quid on it, and still don't meet the reserve, it does make you think. If the reserve had been 50 then there would have been a dogfight with people trying to win it.- The Yum Yums - Re-release
- Soul Twins - Quick Change Artist @ Karen
Supposedly a legal reissue from 72/73. All blue label, no silver lines across it.- Ian Levine, Motorcity, Centre City, Blackpool Mecca, And Swons
How do you think things like studio time, production and record pressing facilities are paid for? They have to be paid before any profit can be shown. And Ian has already explained the Frances Nero situation on part 1 of the thread. And she's bloody lucky someone recorded her, remind me how many records she made after Keep On Loving Me?- The Yum Yums - Re-release
Well for a start it's vinyl - I think all real copies are styrene, I may be wrong - the run off on the pressing is pitted and the print isn't as clear and slightly faded.- Finishing Tonight On Soulbid
No, it's been redesigned and reborn by it's original creator... - The Yum Yums - Re-release
