I discovered the vocal to this record. Little known fact.
  4. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
It came out 6 or 7 years before 12" singles were invented...
  5. Don't worry Wendy, it's only nutcases who'd pay £40 for a reissue of that, I'm happy to sell it for 15/20.

Well Love starved heart was originally an official promo - and the 100 club people would be very upset to be called bootleggers! Besides, the boot of LSH only sells for 20/30 quid.
  7. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Record Sales
It's just a bootleg though - whoever quoted you £100 is clueless
  8. Depends who you buy off. Beas £20. Betty £25-£30.

£25 is a fair pricefor a clean Big Shot copy. I've still got the copy given to me by next door neighbour Brian Smith in 1969 (I was 9). Must have been one of the first reggae records I heard. It's got writing all over it and even silver paint, but I could never part with it (I've got a clean one as well)

Nev there's a whole topic on this and the seller has actually joined the forum... p.s. man has landed on the moon
  11. I have the RCA demo of this for sale for £50 if anyone's interested
  12. Vondors sold. Bit slow today.
  13. Well I see it regularly and sell it for 5 or 6 quid but no doubt someone will tell you you'll have to pay 25 for it!
  14. I fancy the judy freeman but it's way above what I even sell it for unfortunately
  15. I don't think they are real. If they are, they were done especially by the company. It was definitely available as a 'pressing'.
  16. There's more forgotten monster sounds on the STOMPING SEVENTIES podcast on the same page - first two tracks were KIM TOLLIVER - I DON'T KNOW WHAT FOOT TO DANCE ON and SISTERS LOVE - I'M LEARNING TO TRUST MY MAN... https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/?page_id=11
  17. Chalky, not sure, it's about 15 minutes into the podcast and I can't find my original source of it, but I think it's all instrumental with maybe a bit of backing vocals for the second verse p.s. thinking about this now. I had an incomplete recording of the instrumental with the end chooped off, I am pretty sure Mick Holdsworth spliced that tape with one he had to form a whole track
  18. Fantastic isn't it - never understood why Kent didn't release it
  19. He seems to have one every day, here it is again https://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-ILLEGAL-RELEASE-O...t=1218794823647
  20. Got to be honest, I don't remember doing this podcast, (the one above) or was it the one that I put up for a limited time only...24 hours...I got it back from Karen (soulgirl)...anyway it appears that the entire podcast is mostly unreleased (at the time) material so it might be an interesting listen. Might be, I said... n.b. just found a partial track list TEMPTONES C/U - THAT'S WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE IN LOVE BARBARA MERCER - MY DEAR HEART EDDIE HOLLAND - DAY DREAMER UPTOWN STRINGS - COME GO WITH ME CINDY SCOTT - IN ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER CHRIS BARTLEY - I GO OUT OF MY MIND DAVE HAMILTON - WHAT SHOULD I DO (INST) SHANE MARTIN - I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT MIKE POST COALITION - DOWNTOWN GENERATION lol JEAN CARTER - LIKE ONE alt TOPICS - DO THE YO YO MILTON JAMES - MY LONELY FEELING DIANE LEWIS - YOU AIN'T GOT A CHANCE
  21. I think this podcast is still up and very relevant to this topic, here's the track list OLDIES OBLIVION 3/2/07 https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/?page_id=11 Once upon a time, these tracks were at the top of the heap - amongst the biggest sounds of the day - but now they are kept out of view, at the back of record boxes and on dusty shelves, never to be removed from their sleeves. Why? Have a listen to some of the biggest Northern Soul tracks of the 70's and decide whether they should remain in Oldies Oblivion! BOOGIE MAN ORCHESTRA - LADY LADY LADY GEORGE BAD BENSON - SUPERSHIP HIGH VOLTAGE - COUNTRY ROAD PAULA PARFITT - LOVE IS WONDERFUL BELLES - LET ME DO IT RODGER COLLINS - YOU SEXY SUGAR PLUM TOTAL ECLIPSE - SIX O CLOCK ROBERT KNIGHT - BRANDED DETROIT SOUND - JUMPING AT THE GOGO MISTURA - LIFE IS A SONG WORTH SINGING RAIN - OUT OF MY MIND MIKE POST COALITION - AFTERNOON OF THE RHINO JOHNNY VANELLI - SEVEN DAYS OF LOVING YOU DOOLEY SILVERSPOON - GAME PLAYERS WAYNE COCHRAN - I'M IN TROUBLE TEDDY VANN'S ORCHESTRA - THEME FROM COLOURED MAN CARMEL STRINGS - I HEAR A SYMPHONY T.D. VALENTINE - LOVE TRAP THREE DEGREES - CONTACT JOHNNY WILLIAMS - YOU'RE SOMETHING KINDA MELLOW OUTSIDERS - LONELY MAN LORRAINE SILVER - LOST SUMMER LOVE FRENCH FRIES - DANSE A LA MUSIQUE
  22. TB Super Soul label - Tony Banks.
  23. Salt & Pepper is by Esko Affair.

  25. PETE SMITH 28 JENKS ROAD WOMBOURNE WOLVERHAMPTON WV5 0BL 01902 893569 Pete.smith@freeuk.com JUST A HANDFUL OF GOODIES LOU JOHNSON - UNSATISFIED - BIG TOP WHITE DEMO EX- 50 This is a very rare white demo of this classic. It has a few marks and some very light crackle near the start, barely noticeable. I think this might only be the second WD I've had of this. KENNY SMITH - LORD WHAT'S HAPPENING TO YOUR PEOPLE - GAR DEMO M 75 Best copy I've ever seen - absolutely mint, possibly unplayed APRIL, MAY & JUNE - HE WENT AWAY - RCA DEMO VG++ 50 Stunning midtempo girl group track, this is the RCA demo not the Decca acetate I mentioned last week, you can hear the track here if that link doesn't work, copy and paste it - it's definitely correct this one has a bit of crackle at the start and writing on the label ROBIN RICE - I'VE HAD IT - CRACKERJACK DEMO EX- 50 This is the orange label demo, not the usual white label - rare. Graded EX- because of a couple of light marks not affecting play. MIKE ANCONA & THE JOKERS - BOUND FOR LOVE - CHASE EX OFFERS Bit of a mystery record here. I think it's a blue eyed soul effort from either Texas or New Orleans and the group is supposedly the same ones who did "Soul Sound" but this doesn't appear in any price guide or any website by the looks of it, so maybe a new discovery. sorry link wasn't working - it's up in look at your box anyway, I'll be back with loads more goodies next week cheers Pete POSTAGE EXTRA £1.80 RECORDED £5.50 SPECIAL ALL CARD WELCOME, PAYPAL (4%), CHEQUE, CASH, BANK TRANSFER
