I think I might have sold it to Kev Roberts...this was about 4 years back. Sometimes you can't hold out for more
  3. Fairy nuff (sorry for the pathetic response but I'm listening to the budget!)
  4. Pete S replied to KevH's topic in Look At Your Box
It's damn hard to find on Capitol, I've only had it once, but found it quite hard to sell. John books it at 300, I think I got 75 for it, though I did get it off ebay for a small amount. Don't know when it was played but the boots appeared 78 ish.
  5. I really detest comments like this. Over and over again, people telling other people that they are missing out on something or have no taste unless they broaden their outlook to take in the music that they think we should like. You're like Jehovahs Witnesses, going round preaching at people and trying to convert them when nobody asked you to. n.b. this is to everyone who constantly does this, not just the above poster
  6. It's on Warner Bros I think - once had one in a collection, thought it was there by mistake and never played it. (sorry Mark just seen your reply about it being on privatestock) The Fidels instrumental was put out by SS on a dodgy Veejay label but it was the actual backing track and not a rerecorded one
  7. I agree, an unbelievable record. Don't let Chalky read this though, he says instrumentals can't be soul records

It features live footage of the likes of The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, The Pioneers, John Holt, Millie etc, plus some wonderful audience shots of skinheads/suedeheads, plus excellent interviews with the movers and shakers of the reggae scene at the time including Lee Gopthal of Trojan records. There's also priceless footage of a typical 1969-70 youth club with the kids dancing to skinhead moonstomp. Brilliant stuff and this has never been officialy released on video or dvd, and all previous known copies featured only the music and were in very poor quality. 10.00 THE BEAT 1965-67 full set, every episode on 6 discs, a who's who of 60's soul including OTIS REDDING, MAMIE GALORE, RADIANTS, GERRI HALL, JAMO THOMAS, FRANK HOWARD, WILLIE MITCHELL, ESTHER PHILLIPS, LITTLE MILTON, ROBERT PARKER, THE DOLLS etc etc 35.00 ALL CARDS ACCEPTED. PAYPAL (at 4%). CHEQUES, CASH OR BANK TRANSFER POSTAGE £2.00 recorded DVD'S free postage
  9. I agree with all of the above. I've suffered from depression and Brian is right, there's nothing that anyone can do or say to get you out of it, you can only do it yourself, some people manage it, others just can't. I must be the only person in Wolvo who didn't know Poma, if I did it would have been 20 odd years ago and I forgot so many people living away for so long, but I would like to add my condolensces, he sounded such a great guy.
  10. Never thought of it back then mate, this was a driving uptempo dancer, I bought loads of records of that ilk back then - creative source, johnny williams, east coast connection etc. Love 'em.
  11. First played early 76 - actually bought this on my first ever visit to the Casino - dropped like a stone almost immediately. LinDee copies came after Gamma
  12. No, don't think I have
  13. I thought it was actually a spoof page!
  14. I've seen a demo of the debonairs on track - white test pressing with custom track labels and typed info
  15. There's a topic here you should read /Opinion...ons-t67751.html there should be another section on Soul Source for people who don't like to discuss anything, go start one
  16. Yes, easy to spot, stuck on label, different shade of yellow and it'll have a delta number beginning with 90 or 100 in the run off
  17. God, it gets more and more pathetic. You're glad I didn't go. Fine. So am I. You liked it, that's great, I watched the clip, I thought it was rubbish, that's my opinion. What is your problem with me having an opinion on something thats been posted up for people to watch?
  18. Read it again and try to understand the point, I did write it in English to make it easier for you to understand.
  19. It's getting worse on here every week for this kind of thing. Woebetide anyone who has an opinion that's different from the general consensus. We've got a new breed of member this last few months who just hate to see the boat being rocked and everything has got to be just nice and everyone must get along with everyone else and all like the same things. I don't like the f*cking Carstairs. I have not killed your family. I just don't like a record, get over it.
  20. Was going well up until this point. F*cking choons. I ask you.
  21. Only in the sense that my copy was last seen on a burning gas ring
  22. I'll get your coat for you Tony
  23. No it's a site for Northern Soul FANS to give their opinions on things and if he doesn't like it then he's allowed to say whatever he likes. Otherwise whats the point of having the site? I'm surprised someone didn't come in with "Idle Few is a soul classic, shame on you for not liking it" like they did to me with The Carstairs the other day
  24. Thanks Ken. I prefer this to PJ Proby's version.
