Every Tune Played In A Set
- Which Record Do You Have To Play Again
Totally agree Steve, when I first heard it I used to rush home just so I could listen to it again. A masterpiece of soul. Along with George Smith - I've had it - Turntable. Phil.- Would The Scene Die If There Were No Longer Vinyl
Rachel, if only there were more like you. That last paragraph is "nail on head" stuff i.m.h.o.why would anybody want to travel to a venue to hear music that thay can play at home? and sing along to every word. I know many people who get very upset if they don't know every single tune that's played. I'm running an upfront night myself, and struggling to get people in, but at least the ones who attend are there for the right reasons. And as long as I can break even, I'll keep going. It is very depressing though when you see the attendances at oldies nights. Can't understand it myself. The buzz that I get when I hear a new tune that blows me away, just can't be beat. WHAT IS THAT, I MUST HAVE IT, PLAY IT AGAIN. That's what it means to me. Wish you lived closer, you'd be very welcome at my do. Phil.- Would The Scene Die If There Were No Longer Vinyl
Hi Andy, When you say "too many people trying to break into djing who arn't good enough" Do you mean technically, or musically?Or both? Phil.- 15 Years And Counting
Very interesting, thanks Mike. Regards, Phil.- Would The Scene Die If There Were No Longer Vinyl

Are there lot's of copies then Chalky?- 15 Years And Counting
Similar thing seems to have happened with a record that Stuart Bennet has played at my Soul Salvation nights. Was thought to be a one off for many years, but have been told it's been seen on a play list recently. So maybe a few have turned up. Explosive Dynamics - Whole lot of love - Lemco, fantastic tune. Another that I'd love to own. You know it Steve?- 15 Years And Counting
Hi Steve, The one on John's R.O.T.R. was loaned to him by mr. Watt. I'm glad to hear there are more copies though, it gives us all hope of one day owning a copy. Bloody hell, did you see that pig just fly by. Best, Phil.- 15 Years And Counting
Happy new year Steve. Come to Soul Salvation, Dickie plays it when he dj's for me.He was on last month, only 2 copies known I've been told, Mr. Watt and Mr. Butch. What a record though but, sends me into raptures every time. AWESOME ! Best Regards, Phil.- Karl Rhodes - Contact Info Needed Please
Thanks everyone, have got his number now. Sorted.- Karl Rhodes - Contact Info Needed Please
I urgently need to contact Karl Rhodes, as he has one of my records that Paul Sadot left with him. Paul has gone away and he was supposed to be buying the record from me. He gave back word on the deal and should have got the record back to me. However, he sent me a text message saying that Mr. Rhodes has the record. Not much use to me, as I don't know the guy. Please could some kind soul let me have his contact details so we can sort this out. Thanks for looking, Phil.- Mid Tempo
Floor at the Greatstone is packed with three people on it though.- 5 Gold Rings
KIN'ELL you must have some contacts, or are these from your own collection Andy? Never heard the Precisions played out, must be dog rare. What an awsome tune though.- News:Manship auction process exposed
Hang on, let me get my head round this. You are calling John's live and totally open auction a fraud, and in the same breath, recomending Goldmines covert undercover auction, as the ideal. You are having a laugh mate. Can't wait to send in my email, with my bid, and then wait and see if I've won. Oh, hang on, no, only the winner is informed. Oh, I must have lost. I wonder who won it? and I wonder how much it went for? Still, great fun though, can't wait to have another go. This could really catch on, and there's no way any wrong doing can happen with this fool proof system. What a load of cobblers. Phil.- News:Manship auction process exposed
Chris has hit the nail on the head here. The reason that people will pay over the odds for records off John's auction is, if you are not happy with your purchase, he will refund you, with no hassle. Compare that to ebay, where I for one, have been ripped off many times. The fact is that people trust John because he runs his business in a totally professional way. He has sold records for me, and I have bought records, from his auction. I have no hesitation in doing business with him, and trust his integrity. In short, I like the guy. Phil.- Rare 45 Wanted
Oh yes, fantastic chicago sound, I'd love to own myself.- Past, Present & Future
- Wanna Be Dj, Some Questions?
Absolutely nail on head. I'm in the same boat with my SOUL SALVATION @ BURNLEY CRICKET CLUB Wishing you well for your events in the new year. Phil.- Wanna Be Dj, Some Questions?
Hi Kev, Some very good points well put there, but, didn't you make your name originally by being at the cutting edge of this scene. You had the records that the others didn't, and the rest, as they say is history. The thing that frustrates so many of us Kev, is that we struggle to get punters to our upfront nights. Yet you have 1000+ listening to the same old playlist. Jealousy, envy? I don't think so. I just want to share my passion for this music with like minded individuals. I feel that if we don't offer something fresher, more exciting, then people will get fed up and leave the scene. That's just my opinion Kev, you are obviously one of, if not, THE, number one promoter on this scene. But how long will there be a scene? All the best to you and your's, Phil.- Wanna Be Dj, Some Questions?
I think what it is Dave, is that most of us on here really CARE about the scene. And if it wasn't for us, there wouldn't be a scene at all. The collectors are the soul [pardon the pun] of this scene. God bless em all. How long would the retro thing last, if not for the REAL faithful. I remember when it was underground and exciting, that's what it's all about to me. Lifeline, that's where it's at. Merry Christmas, Phil.- Wanna Be Dj, Some Questions?
