  1. I've never understood the attraction for plates that don't actually say what they are supposed to. Some are so obscure it beggars belief.
  2. I'm surprised you don't get stopped with that plate Steve. Will NPR be able to read it?
  3. Wow! Emmitt Long, thought it would have gone much higher. Not my usual type of record but I love it. Wish I had the money.
  4. I tried on the night Russ, but to no avail.
  5. Like I said Kev, I give up. If you can't tell the difference in the sound, then I was just wasting my time trying to make everything perfect. You can't equalise recordings. Graphic equalisers are for live bands. I wanted to listen to Cliff's spot, and I would have attended on a regular basis if I could actually heard what was being played. If I hadn't gone there with Cliff and Stu, I would have walked straight out. I notice that Cliff hasn't Dj'ed there since that night. I wonder why? If you enjoy yourself that's all that matters. But I only go for the music, and I want to be able to recognise what's being played. Boom, boom, boom isn't for me.
  6. The Burnley nighters when I ran them were always very dark. I wouldn't have run it otherwise. The owner didn't give a monkeys for health and safety bullshit, and neither did I. Badly set up PA's are the reason I won't go out anymore. Tried it a few months ago and it was that bad you couldn't tell what the record was that was playing. Yet several people wrote look backs saying the night was brilliant????? I give up.
  7. Can't you just load it up the right way up?
  8. Just look on JM's web site Steve.
  9. Along with the Eddie Parker on Awake.
  10. There are actually a lot of cheap and easily accessible records that aren't on you tube.
  11. Chuck Bernard is an absolute steal.
  12. We have strayed off topic now, but people have been saying that record prices will tumble soon since Soul Sam were a lad. Yet they still keep going up and up. I'm just jealous that I haven't got that kind of money to spend.
  13. Is that better or worse than your "pants" grading Joan?
  14. If it was a local hit though Marc, you can bet a lot will have been trashed.
  15. Sir Joe should be Sir Joke. three grand!
  16. I know it killed me to part with it, but it was the only thing that John would trade so I had no choice.
  17. I presume we are talking about Rita & Tiaras again mate?
  18. Bloody rare, and all the copies I have seen [3] have been in VG or worse condition.
  19. Not that I know of, but it has had several Cd releases.
  20. Sorry Beji, but it's one of the best allnighter records of all time. The atmosphere when played at a packed club in the early hours is something to behold. Fan friggin tastic. Just the first three notes would have everyone rushing for the dance floor. Shivers down the spine just remembering it.
