  1. The person who's forum name is Brownie, isn't in fact Tim Brown.
  2. My post was made in 2006 though mate.
  3. You're dead right Dave. Same thing happened when all those Al Williams mint Palmer Demo's started to appear on ebay. Love the Palmer demo as the recording is far superior to the one on La Beat.
  4. I didn't, but I heard what was being played when my mates came round my house with records, EMI's and live tapes. And the Mecca was playing New York Disco by then.
  5. Now I remember why I jacked it all in around 1976. Some truly dreadful records played back then. I guess you had to be there. Only a mother could love some of these tunes.
  6. It was big after I sold up, so the first time I heard it was on a CD compilation. I didn't like it and couldn't understand what the fuss was all about. The same goes for Damon Fox, De-lites, Executive Four and other biggies. However, once I had heard them played out and danced to them, I knew exactly what the fuss was about. Awesome! This only goes to prove the point that this is dance music, not for listening to at home.
  7. That copy came from Stuart Bennett who had to sell it to get out of some financial problems he was having at the time. He's never got over it, even to this day.
  8. I'll ask around for you George, I know you like them minty.
  9. I didn't realise that Blakka had changed the handles on their boxes. I used to like the old ones which were like a spring encased in plastic.
  10. I agree, the handles on the Blakka boxes are more comfortable than the Swan.
  11. It doesn't fill a dance floor and that reflects in the price I think. Great record but very messy.
  12. Be very cheap at £500 Carl. I got £600 for mine quite a few years ago.
  13. Yeh, "what's this crap he's playing? I could do much better. Giz a spot."
  14. You wouldn't dare ride a scooter to Wigan or anywhere else in those days. They used to get stolen for fun back then. We once went on ours just up the road to Burnley Cats Whiskers and my mates scoot was vandalised. I had my Lambretta stolen twice from outside my girlfriends house. There was a huge black market in stolen scooters in those days.
  15. Very much hard work, and bloody expensive at the top level. I just couldn't commit the time and money anymore. Thinking back now, I just lived for it and I wonder why I did it all? I think I have an obsessive disorder.
  16. You must be pretty handy then Steve, they are a very good outfit. We probably never crossed poles as I fished in the Lancashire winter league, and fished for a Yorkshire team for years.
  17. Bloody hell! I can't believe I get slated for a spelling error when there's some on here that can't put a cohesive sentence together. And I don't need any lessons on coarse fishing, I used to be a bit of a canal ace actually.
  18. I've booked a full coarse of lessons. You lot better watch out once I've qualified.
  19. https://emailer.athdesign.co.uk/t/r-l-cjyahk-ildulhztt-d/ Sorry about not pasting the list, but since Rick died [RIP] I have had trouble with the formatting. Please use the link. PLEASE DON'T CONTACT ME FOR ANYTHING OFF THIS LIST. PLEASE CONTACT ANGLO AMERICAN. THANK YOU.
  20. Yes he did. Too f***ing fast for this child. It is a rare one though.
  21. We all have different taste in music, and you are entitled to yours. I have never liked the record myself, it's never moved me. The Parisians version is a very messy production, and to my ears the Traditions version is far superior. The point I was trying to make is that the Parisians isn't that rare, and certainly not worth £2k.
  22. What gets me though Bearsy, Paul Shirley put a Traditions up for sale at £800 and got no takers. It's many times rarer and a much better version in my humble opinion. Bloody sheep.
