  1. "Annie Get your Yo Yo" - Little Junior Parker on Duke I reckon. Can't check as I'm at work. I would have called it R&B years ago until the meaning changed Godz
  2. Anyone want half a dozen copies of "Day Trip to Bangor" by Fiddler's Dram then? Godz

  4. Spot on Mik. I've always loved Joe 90 ever since I was a kid with my W.I.N. special agent's briefcase. I mean, how can you not like Barry Gray?? I think people get mixed up between records that are not soul and shite tunes. Both the above are top TV theme tunes and it's not the fault of the creators of these pieces of music that some feckwit decided to play them at soul clubs. Same arguement for Human Beinz as a garage record really, I guess. If you take this viewpoint to it's logical conclusion, everything from Bach to the Beatles and beyond is rubbish purely because it has no place in the soul scene. Godz

  8. Definately. Love that shouty stuff Anybody give me a price on the Sugar Pie 45? I know it's been a bit of a mod spin and was comped by Kent and I always imagined it was a £10/£15 record but I can't find a price through googling. Am I about right or miles out? Thanks again. Godz
  9. ok - cheers, Rachel Godz Fine tune for 20 squid I should add! Godz
  10. I have an arrangement with my friendly neighbourhood second-hand record shop. He gives me a bell when he gets any interesting looking soul or funk and we agree a price on anything I want. I try to offer him a price that's fair to both of us. He's just bought a load of singles from an ex DJ and there are some decent bits and we've sorted out a deal for 20 odd items. Not sure about these three though so would appreciate a bit of pricing help: Sugar Pie Desanto - Go Go Power - Checker Shirley Wahls - Because I Love You - Calla DJ Majestics - She troubles My Mind - Cube (UK) Cheers guys Godz
  11. Fontana 45, Grant. It's titled "Why Don't I Run Away From You". I think I have a copy somewhere. PM me if you're interested. Cheers Godz

  16. ok - if you don't like the odd pop tune there's no point having a listen to this and saying "no soul content, white pop, etc, etc" If however you don't mind hearing the odd poppy dancer on a nice sunny day - have a listen Godz oops - attachment buggered up - full one on post 3
  17. Teddy Johnson actually, Simon You have to be careful with Eurovision stuff - the fans are even more rabid than the people on here! Godz
  18. There's a piece in the new Record Collector about the Billy Harner 45 recently sold on eBay. It reads: 7" single on Karma Sutra Records of which only five are said to exist, this Northern Soul rarity has been hiding in LA for the last few years. No mention of the fact that it's the instrumental cut though. It'll be interesting to see if anybody suddenly thinks they have £1000 record on their hands... Godz
