Ted Massey Robbery Records Stolen
I've shared this in the private group of indie record shops that take part in RSD. Unlikely that they will be offered over the counter of a shop, but no harm in having these guys with their ear to the ground. Plus somebody might recognise the pic.

Loma 45s Box Set - last x 2 copies
NOW SOLD THANKS Bit of a buzz on this one. Sold out at Ace (as our rep advised it would be) and out of stock at most shops. Copies appearing on a certain online market place at inflated prices - and likely to go up… We have just x 2 copies left in stock at our normal retail price of £55 + £5 signed for post. PM if interested.

Spencer Wiggins RIP
@Chalky has some great footage of him singing at Band on the Wall. I was there and it genuinely brought me to tears. He sounded older but still fantastic and the age evident in his voice actually enhanced the whole experience. It was just beautiful. Any chance of posting here Karl?

RSD 2023
Releases this year by Willie Tee, Richard Caiton, Terry Callier, TSU Toranados, Velvet Hammer, Cynthea Sheeler, Gaturs, Harvey Scales, Koko Taylor, Latin Blues Band, Marvin Gaye, Shirley Scott, Stairsteps, Tony Troutman plus a shedload of Latin, Reggae, Hip Hop and other bits that might appeal to Sourcers. Maybe some I forgot too... Link to list below. We'll be stocking all the soul titles at Record Revivals, Scarborough and we'll add more details in time. IMPORTANT! This year official RSD shops can sell any unsold stock from 8PM the Monday after RSD, (Monday 24th April) so there's less reason than ever to feed the scalpers on eBay and Discogs. https://recordstoreday.co.uk/media/vgyhl0ck/record-store-day-list-2023-pdf-1.pdf

Elaine / Lainie Hill
Thanks. I’ll ping Ady as to where the info came from .

Elaine / Lainie Hill
I've seen references to Elaine Hill on RSVP and Lainie Hill in New Voice being the same person. Has this ever been verified? It's tricky to compare as the songs are quite different, but I'm just not hearing it. Any thoughs? Thanks.

never seen a 5 stairsteps 45 are they rare ?
There were 2 or 3 titles in quantity on Olham Market around 75/76. Unplayed stock in co sleeves. I used to take copies of I Ain't Gonna Rest to Wigan and recommend it as an uptempo blind buy.

R&B Help Please: Alladin Label Variations
Feel free to tell me if I should be ashamed for not knowing already heheh! 😆 So, a simple one hopefully: Alladin mid 50s issues on Burgundy and Blue labels: Were they issued simultaneously or one colour first? Does the answer apply to all issues or does it vary between releases? What was the reason for different labels? Anything else relevant I should know? Thanks in advance experts 😉

Del - Larks help needed please
Further bit of info: The recent boots have the blue area all in a solid patch of colour, whereas on the 70s boot the blue looks kind of washy, scratchy or patchy (chose your own adjective). You can see a bit in pics and scans, but when it's in your hand it's really evident. I think some even have a little smudge of blue in the white. All of the ones we got at the time were like this. Looks like your guy has some duff info and is going to be inflexible though - and you'd lose a paypal claim, as they're weighted towards the buyer and if he says not as described that's it. You'll probably just have to refund, accept the slight loss and move on. I'd do a brief post on Vinyl Vigilante too, so that anyone who wants to block him can. Very happy for the buyer to read this of course, as he's just plain wrong. Good luck mate Paul (Godz)

- Wigan 74 - Whats the track at 19:00 minutes please?
I collect theme tunes and I like it for that reason - alone. From what I recall most people (admittedly off their rockers…) just looked it at as someone having a bit of laugh (including a few half hearted dancers who just kept their space on the floor for 2 minutes). It was nowhere near taking off in any meaningful way and nobody expected it to. My gang thought it was fun for a moment. No more, no more less.- Wigan 74 - Whats the track at 19:00 minutes please?
I’m almost reluctant to keep this going! however that’s definitely the promo 7 of Gordon’s Gin as it came out inc the slow intro. If you’re comparing to some of the YouTube clips available, they’re mostly the 80s version. IMB - as I’ve never said in my life… 😂- Want: Sons of Moses - Deviled Egg - BIX WP £100
Wanted: Sons of Moses - Deviled Egg - BIX Will pay £100 Stone Mint and incrementally less for lesser condition. Min VG+ Thanks to anyone who can help. - Wigan 74 - Whats the track at 19:00 minutes please?
