Thankss for that John, and yes I presumed that after a quick G**gle search... I've also been told before but didn't look much further factually. Cheers, Tim

Smaller holes for 6T's 45rpm's in Belgium ? What labels had that ? Here's an example on the BIEM plot; this is Holland this is Belgium and it's French counterpart and the French example. So you see SABAM is Belgian only ! SACEM is also for France only ! But BIEM was for Belgium, Holland, France and more...
-
Some singles in France had sometimes triangle ejectable centers in the 5T's and early 6T's. In Holland some had the rond ejectable centers but most had the big centers. In Germany I believe that all had the big centers as in Belgium.
-
Because those black Brunswick are ! If you know the French pressings and the Belgian ones, you can tell them appart even though it's written BIEM. You have the typos/fonts and then you have the company sleeves, the art-sleeves and the picture sleeves that are specific (when you have them, not all seem to have "deserve" one) that are another strong lead.

Nope Belgian !

Gene Chandler !*! PS !*! 'such a pretty thing' Holland £45
Tlscapital posted a topic in Record Sales
R Here's a rather rare press of an overlooked piece of northern soul with a beautiful picture sleeve on a very collectable Dutch company known as 'Artone' who released the most beautiful IMHO picture covers for Motown, Chess... in Europe. Condition of the cover is only VG with a ring wear, some small writing on the cover, and crease here and there. Vinyl is a nice Ex and plays perfect. PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £45 (or best offer) free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered -
C-Quents 'it's you and me' Essica Ex+ £35 Free P&P

NOW REDUCED TO £35 -
I've just manage to dig out my old stock copy, and yes it's the same recording... the improvement I made on the tone-arm are so dramatic in sound that sometime I re-discover such or such tune. Thanks all, problem solved.

Bought as NOS (new old stock) and played once to check playing condition; perfect ! So Ex+ with perfect label. Scans from actual record for sale. PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £40 NOW £35 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered

Hi Rob, thanks for your very complete input as usual, but here I am specifically trying to figure out if we can compare both Correct-Tone; the promo versus the issue/stock copies... are they different take ? Like the Miracles 'shop around' and the 3 different cuts/takes... I know about the SonBert and Ric-Tic re-recording.
-
Can't put my hand on my stock copy at this moment. So I just played my newly acquired promo copy and 'I'm a coward' sounds like an other take... or am I confused by the clearer sound on my converted and improved turntable ? Even 'puppet on a string' sounds different (not an other take necessarily) but this is maybe only my new hi-fi "sound". Anyone out there knows better ?
-
Agree, it's good not great IMHO. But it does fills the dance floor. So it's a DJ record. Maybe some out there need one ASAP ?

Evergreen classic on a rarer french Tamla-Motown format. Art-sleeve is missing to make it incomplete but trust me, not to call it a thing of beauty. Ex condition. Scans and sound clip from actual record for sale. mountain high.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £20 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered _______________________________________________________ Evergreen stomper on a German Monument. Picture sleeve is missing here which is a shame since a wonderful one. But then it's much more expensive also when complete. Vg+ overall condition due to scuffs and mark. Even mint, those thin vinyls and tight grooved pressings do always grab a lot of statics. Still playable. Look & Listen ! Scans and sound clip from actual record for sale. number 1.mp3 PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £20 free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered number 1.mp3

You outdid me. Was about to do exactly that. And I agree, looks too neat ! Plus the Rita has that typical "circular silky brush" effect on the label that you only see on contemporary presses. Still the title and artist credits typos/fonts are close but not the same...
-
Looking for a mintish as possible, both label wise as styrene wise, copy of the above. Please, if you have one for sale, PM me the condition and your price. Cheers, Tim

British release stocker without it's original center. Label suffers also a small tear between 7 & 8 O'clock near center. Vinyl is a glossy Ex with very faint scuffs. and plays loud and strong. PM me for details. Gradings used are M/Ex/Vg... through +/- £35 (or best offer) free P&P all over the world - add £6 to have it registered

Most desirable picture sleeves for rare US 45s?
Tlscapital replied to Derek Pearson's topic in Look At Your Box
Talking 6T's or early 7T's I hear; Sam Fletcher 'I'd think it over' even though it's only an art-sleeve for such a "must have" 45... the Jesse Davis 'there's room for me' if you're into such a thing... Jackie Washington 'why won't they let me be' on Vanguard is great, overlooked and not rare enough or too subtle for some... Gino Washington 'it's winter' on Atac... Off course both Commands are the must for such great 45s IMHO. But sorry, I don't agree for the Metros (which I had few copies through the years) that is such a cheap picture sleeve (bad paper and cheap print work in comparaison with other German PS) and when you get the USA LP with those deep and electric blue colors, you get the picture ! -
Thanks Craig, that puts me out of my "misery". Now I finally have to find the Greek record to fit into that sleeve... or not !
-
No it was from a list. You're right there's also one for Ruby's 'Casanova' (Zodiac) on the evilBay from an American seller:
-
I got this 45 this morning. The Zodiac company sleeve is something I wasn't aware of to exist as such. It looks strange somehow (typo logo not the same & the zodiac signs are not the same either) and so I wondered if it's not an other record company sleeve and someone just decided to put it on Ruby Andrew's 45... Anyone out there knows better about it;
-
I have the LP 'Black Ruby' in Ex condition (vinyl) and vg+ cover with some wear and small open split seam and am looking to trade it straight for an Ex copy of the 45 of 'just loving you'. Pleas PM me if interested.

This is bad for both USA sellers as outside buyers actually ! Inflation is not considered anymore as an economic problem in some elite circles... but only as a social issue to be solved by the aim to get rich if worthy. It's not the case as such here with the rises of outside USA postal fees, but it does participate to that general downfall of the lower wages in their economical, social and political everyday empowerment once again.

Demand on the market have change indeed through the decades. But french EP's have just dried-up and are still considered "desirable" for collectors (like me). No DJ's will go for them since they are kinda lo-fi and they are too expensive for the "common" music buyers. They didn't lose their "splendor" IMHO, but they are only harder to find and too expensive for most wallet. The Artone (Holland) Tamla-Motown, Chess... thingies are still much more collectable and always order bigger $ than their USA counterparts. And they sound good enough on the other hand. Now I don't go for the other €uro releases (German, Spanish, Portuguese...) The Belgian ones are odd and pretty hard to catalogue and/or value (some with picture or art-sleeve and some without) and do have a personal preference here ! With few exceptions like the "unreleased" or 7" format issue for theDJ's.
-
No, it's deep blue and yes, the vinyl issue of Bobby Garrett's 'I can't get away' is a bootleg. It's even low-fi when you play it. It just looks better than it sounds. When you play it you understand that something is wrong...
