  1. Say your prayers for Bleeker Bob's, Just walked by this afternoon. Official last day was last Saturday, but someone was in there boxing up so he let me in. Managed to spend $7 on about $5 worth of 45s just because.
  2. Anything on the matrix?
  3. Be careful folks and i quote "Walls have ears, Loose talk costs lives, Big brother is watching you." Depending on who's reading this. Other side of the coin. E bay related not relevent to private sales Let's assume I was to put a lower value on it ( without being asked) on a consistent basis to prevent all your money being spent on lavish funerals, that of course is something far too altruistic for someone like me to do. Let's also assume that for the first time ever recently it was suggested that I would be thanked for it, just a simple e mail he said he would send if such a thing were to happen. Now wouldn't that have been nice, such a little thing that wouldn't cost owt.
  4. Based on a level playing field yes, but on EB rules buyers are superhuman beings given the power to do no wrong In this case, if it says contact me, is there some reason why he shouldn't? "Hi, I'm new and I'd like to bid on your item. I'm not a jerk Thanks The bestest buyer you're ever going to have." 15 seconds and I'm a slow typerer. Is that so hard? What else can't / won't he read in the auction?
  5. I'd cancel his bids, block him, then ask him. Release it if he comes across as just a non reading idiot with an apology. If it will sell anyway , you don't need the potential grief.
  6. Just looked at this. Surely if it's held together by a metal rivet, he could put us out of our misery and show us a picture of it. Never seen a riveted 45. Anyone else seen one? Got a picture? Is it standard practice in Preston?
  7. I think you're I think you're stuck with your good rep Pete especially if you put the note in? You didn't say but is he UK? I think 6 weeks is taking the piss a bit and as Glyn said record return first, then refund. As I recall that's the EB way. Then block him.
  8. I know he didn't have to and it's a nice gesture an all that but surely the money involved is a pittance to him and it's not like he had to do anything besides tell the 3rd assistant check writer to send it off and it's tax deductible. If we all had to dig and cough up a c note apiece that would probably be more meaningful and would hurt Similar in a way to the Sandy victims concert. In that case he just flew over for a good time, got a ton of publicity and as far as I can find out the gelt is "still in the works" I personally know people still homeless and shattered after that and could have done with a visit from said check writer with real cash. If you see post #24 I don't think he's got enough cash to make up for that.
  9. I think it's a great idea. We all need a few quid sometime to get over the hump without watching something go out the door. I probably couldn't get 5 bob on the rest of my stuff so someone who's not going to argue the toss about a 45 sounds like an idea. Nothing like it in NY as far as I know, even though in these times of trial there are new pawn shops springing up all over the city. I'm sure I'd have a great time showing up with one there. The old guys who disappeared about 15 -20 yrs ago here may have considered it, they would probably have done the rersearch if possible By the looks of things the new guys are only interested in tangible family jools. Good luck to you.
  10. Had coupla problems lately so I feel for you Swifty All joking aside it is getting like tap dancing in a minefield and EB does FA about it except say buyers are fab regardless of circumstances. I'm thinking of just doing it for amusement - put it up, see what it goes for, then not bother to send the records. Just send the geezer his money straight back. I'd hate to think they had to waste all that time emailing PP to get something for nothing.
  11. FWIW I was asked about this by a friend who had it on a list he was sent from Belgium. I told him about it, he asked $250 and got it. Couldn't get him to take mine as well though. Maybe a Belgian on here knows something. Huge in Bruges?
  12. When I was a sprout I always thought he looked the coolest, even more so than Smokey. For a big guy he was just the smoothest mover, made it look so efffortless. RIP
  13. Not to mention but now you can go back to serious discusion
  14. So with a bit of luck you'll soon be able to buy Wolves and show em how it should be done, right?
  15. Depending on the PO worker, some won't send it without a value on it. It's about 50/50 in my experience. The downside of leaving it blank anyway is you leave it up to them to think of something and no idea how creative they may get. If it's not too much trouble. I'm sure a lot of people would be grateful. How about you guys. Now they can't buy from us are they beating a path to Wolverhampton to get their fix?
  16. Nope, we know it now. and there's really FA we can do about it unless you got any 100 watt ideas
  17. So far you're not forced to use EB system,if you're talking about their "Global Shipping Program " and until they make me I never will. Stick with doing it by the one at a time customs form, you can mess around with that. Anything that puts another bunch of Jobsworths in the loop can't be good for anyone. The hooker makes the package all bumpy and tends to scream and whine, the pint spills when it goes through the sorter and causes label damage. But I'm open to any other bright ideas. It sucks- we can't sell, you can't buy.
  18. Decided to sell my copy. VG VG+ ish. All over light surface scuffs from just hanging around without a sleeve. WCID Plays fine. Light pop in intro/ trail out on RN. May even be fixable but your choice to mess with it or not See pics. No real idea what to ask, so value guesses appreciated. Till someone comes up with something I'll take offers. Soundcloud isn't talking to me, so for the moment I'll send anyone a clip if you PM me your email. If you're in the UK trusted SS member will take it back with him mid march so UK postage only and no VAT / Customs Anywhere else , usual extortion from robbin b****s at USPS $13. PP Gift please. I ain't going anywhere, refund if not happy. Return mail on your dime. Thanks for looking
  19. Don't know, don't care. Doesn't matter.
  20. Flavor of the week , this year and every year.
  21. How dare you !! I'll have you know OUR postal service is now the most expensive in the whole world, they've cut down the volume by about 50% in the last month and they can still loose a package even before you mailed it and I'll stack the blank looks of our workers against anything you can put up.
  22. I did about 6 months ago. Still on hold.
  23. If it's your afternoon it will be our evening/ night, but I admire your pluck. There have been packages in the local PO and they still don't know where they are. That said I'm sure it will be fine, a couple of mine lately have gone the scenic route.
  24. They say they're broke and "going out of business"- no kidding. They barely made or came short on various payments in the last year or two. https://badmoneyadvice.com/2012/05/is-the-usps-going-out-of-business.html https://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jan/15/us-postal-service-ruin-congress-warning Roughly stated but near enough. I'm assuming the RM is probably in the same state.
  25. Never bothered me, I'm not in the business of giving that C a***hole and his crowd more money to piss away I put $5 /7/10 on it depending how I feel. and if the buyer asks me to, HOW he asks me to. Some are bloody demanding. As to claiming the money if it's lost. If it's registered you get $46 international and minimal bloodshed, but it never gets lost then. If it's not I'm to old to go through all that just so my kids will get a few $. As to HMC&E, if you send it in a nice professional mailer all nice and pretty it screams " Professional seller & buyer" - bang em the max!! If you do a fairly sloppy ( but solid) hand made mailer ( takes about 10 mins) change the senders name to Mrs Ethel McGinty . Then do your best ever so wobbly joined up sig and viola a pressy from Auntie Ethel and most get through without charges. Ones with the EB printed postage label too, funnily enough, even though you can't put it as a gift. At least those that reply as I ask to let me know. Some people admittedly when they're doing a production line don't have the time to do that, and I have had people moan that the package didn't look very nice but you can't win them all. And yes I've been killed by those robbin B********ds at USPS.
