I loved it as a teenager, would I still do it now if I could? yep as long as the standard I had hadn't dropped. Thing I see these days amongst some of those that still do, they're timing is so badly out, but then that can be applied to spinning or dancing as well.

I've never dissed the music of my youth, but I had a spell as a snob in the late 9Ts, thankfully I've recovered, because I was completely and utterly in the wrong. Everything has a place, once I realised that, I started to enjoy everything a whole lot more.

I don't know if that's to me, if it was, the only point I was making was, that this is a recurring topic, and without someone to put the other side of the coin as it were, it's not really a debate Hence me saying, ''right on cue the alternative view'', no malice intended

The northern scene has always embraced 'gingers'

I pretty much think along the same lines, there may well be a northern scene in 50 years time, but it won't be recognisable when compared to today's scene, just as today's scene isn't the same as the one most of us arrived on 30/40 years ago, it's forever morphing

Have heard the same, and seen 2/3 fights this year, won't name the venues as I don't think it's relevant. Been coming for at least 10 years Si, as the scene has become more social orientated than dance, can't see how it would go any other way

I just watched it again, and I really enjoyed it, yeah there's a couple of naff bits, but if I compare it to the ''normal'' TV fare on offer, it comes out top by miles

It's surely 'catch 22' without the obvious oldies, you wouldn't attract the number of punters needed to sustain it, plus if one promoter was monopolising the event, I would guess it would lead to bitterness and backbiting, My feeling, it's a bit of a non starter these days

I think this is absolutely the right attitude. I used to write reviews for a couple of magazines, and some web-sites, always did it off my own back so no payment was involved, then it became like a job because I found I was sought out to write reviews, that brings different problems. Whether I had a good night was suddenly irrelevant, I was trying to gauge others feelings, it was time consuming, and could lead to petty squabbles, so I stopped. Bottom line is, Jellybean's summing up is perfect, if you enjoyed the night yourself, say so, if you didn't, maybe others did, so a negative review could be unfair.
