  1. I was waiting for that ! But Paul it must have been a long time ago, I seem to remember you were slim & I had hair at the time, or was it the other way round ?
  2. Did anyone ask the Volumes how many of the group members that are in the group now were in the group way back when they recorded the Magnetics - Lady in green ? Would be interesting to know.
  3. Soul Brothers Inc - Teardrops - Salem I've got a mint one, got it off Steve Cooper from Bedford a few years ago, he had 2 mint copies. Think the other one went back to America.
  4. Yeh but how many have the "Chicago" T-cut hiss ? Regards, Ady ps It's spelt "Hitchin"
  5. More than a 100? what, 150, 200? I would guess most oldies collectors have a copy at the back of their box. Mostly seen black & silver ones over recent years, or is it the same copies changing hands ?

Ah gotcha, thanks for that. Also, I find that 99.9% of people pay with paypal, so there goes another 4% fee as well.

I can see where it says : 10% of the final selling price, up to a maximum of £40 So what does the percentage go up to over £40, does anyone know yet?
  8. This is the alco Research & Engineering test pressing of Don Thomas - Come On Train that belonged to Don (you'll have to take my word for it as there's no titles on it). It's vinyl, with the same markings as the one's that prophonics Tony has posted up. It doesn't belong to me, my son Tommy sent it over as a birthday present for my other half last year, as its her favourite song. Tried to get it off her a few times, no joy yet
  9. Cheers for that Jaco, yes, looks like the same label Just found a picture of the group, so I'm sorted there. Can anyone supply by email clear scans of the two above, plus two below 45's ? Also, just read there are a couple of ACTION PAC e.p's ? ACTION PAC (Stan Beverly and the Hollywood Saxons) 2023 Thelisa (SB)/[Yellow Moon - Blossoms]// 2004 Gee Whiz (ALL)/[Tell Me Why - Bel-Aires] - 69
  10. This is a bit of a long shot, but if you don't ask ! Does anyone have a photo of the following group? THE PROFESSIONALS - MY HEART BELONGS TO YOU - ACTION PAC HOLLYWOOD SAXONS - LOVING YOU - ACTION PAC Both the above are the Stan (Stande) Beverli group. ALSO. Is there anything else on the ACTION PAC label? Many thanks, Ady.
  11. Hi Lenny, I know shifty had a few mint copies a while back, dont know if he has any left. Ady.
  12. Old American green sleeves, now they do smell nice if you get a load of them in the same room. I must admit I do sometimes find myself with my nose pressed firmly against the contents of my record shelves now & again. I remember walking into an old record storage place once in L.A. Just got through the door & the fella said "hi, can I help you?" Just at that second the smell hit me as I was just starting to say "Have you got any? errrm, have yooooooou got any???..... " the fella blurts out "NORTHERN SOUL !! Your a Brit !!" At that second I looked to my right & there they were, must have been about 5000 old empty green sleeves "errrrm Northern Soul ?? no....can't stand the stuff, I collect Surf music....how much are those green sleeves, please".
  13. Dave, That's what is written in the run out (on the green label issue) on the SHO-NUFF HOT PANTS side. This green one I have here doesn't play off center. COOL OFF side has 20011 Ady
  14. It's the 3rd Frank F*****g Wilson ! Banksy had it & never let on
  15. Hi Ian, Just to refresh your memory & to clarify what you have stated. I never "sold" you a record to the value of £500. You would give me part payment in money, the balance was given to me in copies of Danny Leake, Vanicia Wilson, & new releases. I have all our transactions written down. It was never a full monetary deal. ??? Yes, I remember the "Brut" record very well. It was Buddy Smith on Brute, at THAT time a 3/4 known copy record. I said you could have it for a £1000. You left it, I traded it at that same venue & night to a value of £2000. Not moaning, just wanted to clarify what you have stated. Nice to see you dj'ing again Ian. I'm sure it won't be long before you're bitten by the collecting bug again. You were very passionate about collecting 60's & 70's vinyl back then, perhaps you will be again one day. Regards, Ady.
  16. Pete, A few years ago when Ian & myself had a fall out Gavin went straight onto ebay & purchased a Northern record from me. I didn't know who he was at the time, we had never met. I sent the record recorded. Next thing is without any warning he left me a negative feedback. In this negative feedback he called me a "A thief", "A liar", etc. claims I'd sent a punk rock record instead of the Northern record he'd won It took a long time, but eventually ebay removed the feedback due to its malicious content. Ian has since told me he knew nothing of this, that may well of been the case. I'm sure it was just a simple case of Gavin thinking he was helping his friend. Such a shame he did it as it certainly caused me problems through people reading it, I was dependant on ebay at the time for my living Regards, Ady

Mate, you & computers dont mix ! Nice records though
  18. But in your head what you're really saying Phil, is... "I'd have been interested in this when I start collecting again" Go on, admit it, I bet you've had a little bid on a record on ebay recently, just a teeny weeny little one?
  19. You're right Carl. Now I've got of my backside & gone & had a look in the collection I've found a couple as well. Lets see what happens when AndyK contacts Tim to see if his has the step in the label as well.
  20. Looking at a small picture of the F.W. that Kenny owns (I've not held the real record) where it has that step in the label..edit...Is that step in Tims record as well ? how come that QUALITY CONTROL stamper stamped such a uniform stamp? Why didn't it miss out the bit in the middle where it went down the dip? Has anyone actually seen the records sat side by side? Ady
  21. I think Coral used them well into the 60's ? I always thought that was a nice touch where they put that shine on the inside of the sleeve, never seen that on a U.S. sleeve. Some years ago I decided to put my records (except the British) into the old U.S. green sleeves. That looks nice when you get a lot of them together. They then fit into white card outers for extra protection. The worst way you can store your records is to put them into those polythene lined sleeves we all used to use years ago. For some starnge reason the polythene reacts against the vinyl after many years of being in contact. The BBC Library used poly lined sleeves, hence why a lot of their records that came onto the market a few years ago have a dull marble effect to the vinyl. Ady.
  22. Also In the U.K., the plain white sleeves used by companies like President with the 'wavy tops', however they did use straight tops as well, are infact the same sleeves as used by companies that had their own colours & names applied, like Stateside & Motown. Ady.
  23. Paul, Don't forget the brown ones that Coral, Vogue Coral, Vogue, Vogue Pop used. These brown sleeves differ to the U.S. type in that they have a faint shiny coating to the INSIDE of the sleeve. Ady.
  24. Bet some bugger will boot them. "I've had my t-shirt booted" ! oh no, just thought, John Manships price guide on t-shirts, followed by John Manships t-shirt bootleg guide Just a thought John, can you put a stipulation into the sales write up on this one....It's being sold under the strictest terms that it wont be sat on top of the local chippies deep fat fryer or have love notes written all over the label. Cheers, Ady
