  1. Thing is Paul, as you'll probably remember, the Ree Flores isn't a rare record. Where on earth has all this £800, £1000, etc. come from? That's just crazy
  2. There's a delta number in the Ree Flores deadwax for June 1969. There's not a delta number on the Little Willie Faulk. You know I can't help thinking the reason for the two versions was the records were being aimed at two seperate markets. Flores is a popular Chicano name, so probably was being aimed at the growing Mexican population in California. The 'A' side of the L.W.F. is a real nice sweet soul side. Can't be 100% sure, but he sounds black to me. Perhaps this was being aimed at the black listeners? I'm only guessing. But both versions of "Look into my heart" are great. There's two different label designs on L.W.F. One with the address & one without. Can anyone post a scan of the demo of Ree Flores? please.
  3. Little Willie Faulk is a full 30 seconds longer as well.
  4. Are they both the same value?
  5. Hi Joan, I've been holding a copy of Honey & the bees on Academy since I put it on a sales list on soul source on 20th October. When I asked the person that contacted me saying he wanted it how long they needed to pay for the record, I got the following reply (on 20th Oct) "Hi Ady, seven to ten days only, paypal so you`ld have it straight away" So, he sent me a paypal payment on 5th November It showed as "payment pending" up until yesterday, when paypal informed me the payment was cancelled. So in answer to your question, I've waited patiently without moaning for 27 days. Do you think it's now time to let the next person that really wanted it a chance to buy the record? Regards, Ady.
  6. ps it has a real nice harmony flip side
  7. Yes, remember you playing this mate. Also, do you remember a young Tommy coming up to the decks when you played it (covered up)? I remember looking over & thinking whats he asking you. He come back, I said to him "what did you go up & ask him about?" he said "Only asked if I could look at his Dave Brady & the stars cover up "......"you did what !! " I honestly didn't put him up to that, he had it on a tape I'd give him
  8. Hi John, No, is it any good? Would that by any chance be number D-703 on the label? I know the Gladiators. Ady.
  9. A fella I know in Ohio found 4 (think he said 4) mint copies about 2 or 3 years ago. I had one off him, should have took the lot, as he then went & put the rest on ebay & they made a fair bit more from what I remember. Great looking label. Infact, give me a minute & I'll stick up a scan.

PS I reckon Barb Wire must have done a bit of good round these parts when it came out, I've found 3 copies round the bootsales/market over the last 3 or 4 years.

When I do commercial type nights you can guarantee someone will come up & say "Can you play some reggae mate?!?" So I always start with the same 4, "Double Barrel" then mix that towards the end into "Nuclear Weapon", then I wack on "Barbwire". Instantly as soon as the lyrics hit the girlie dancers ears you get the smiles & giggles from them, & a little blushing, so then I give it to 'em, "Wet Dream" !
  12. Damn ! was going to make you an offer mate only kidding. I love London yellow demo's, they got the colour just right, far better than the orange they used in the 50's.
  13. Hi Benji, It's rare on a UK demo, I've had a couple of issues but not had a demo. Only thing is it's not what you could class as a Northern classic type of record, more of an acquired taste? At least, that's how the British collectors I know would see it, they tend to look for the more obvious classic type sounds. Think it would struggle beyond £200 as things are at the moment though, but hey, try it at £300+ at least you can come down. Regards, pottsy
  14. Hi Dave, Nice one ! Thanks for that. Will def. buy one of these Cheers Ady
  15. Hi Russ, Are you saying someone has released the material then?
  16. But Pete, I always thought Tamala Lewis was a blue label ?
  17. Yeh I thought that Steve, that may be the one that'll cost him (or her)
  18. In that case I'm starting to feel sorry for them....only another 200 to 300 discs to go & then we're in prophet dear
  19. How expensive are those vinyl cutters? just wondering how many records they'll have to sell to recoup their money?
  20. It's like I said back on 2nd Oct, you can see the problem that Brad has, he's governed by what the person tells him that is releasing the records to him. He can only relay what he is told. Bet he has to dash to the toilet every time that person walks through the shop door with a little card envelope in their hand. Perhaps he should ban them from the shop on medical grounds, can't be doing him any good ......apart from financially of course
  21. Me too Mikey, they look real nice when you put them in green sleeves.
  22. I remember Pat auctioned one many years ago. Slight label damage round the edges where it had been a cover up, think he said it was Richards copy? I got outbid on it anyway, think George won it ? Anyone know where that copy is now? I got a mint one off Shifty many years ago.
  23. That's right Smudge ! Got it off Kev Fev in a trade, cant remember who I sold it too, but it wasn't Pat. I let it go because I got an unplayed issue down at Tottenham court rd record fair that had come out of Carlin Music in London. When our mutual friend won it off Pats auction he called to tell me. First thing I said was 'has it got Kev Fevs name in the run out?' He burst out laughing, yep ! Did find another white demo since, but that's it, it is a rare record. Great oldie, I love it.
  24. Pink Teri De, only 5 numbers to get, so you'd think that would be an easy task
