  1. Does garage mean guitar based songs or simply blued eyed soul? Inmates-this is the day-kopit

Not sure if this is the correct post, and maybe more of a seller question rather than a Discogs question: Why do an awful lot of USA sellers on Discogs advertise what is clearly a ā€œnorthern soul 45ā€ put on the listing ā€œunavailable to the ukā€ ? This seems small minded as the uk is surely the most prolific buyers? Ive messaged one or two USA sellers asking if they would ship to the uk,they don’t even replie?

Interesting topic…however it opens the question of ā€œwhat is soulā€?

Is love grow cold the same backing as Friday night?

Personally, the ā€œbabyā€ with no intro is the far superior version for me,apparently there is no way of telling which disc has which version on it,until you play it?

Ruby -feminine ingenuity/decieved Magnetics-lady in green/heart made of stone Cashmeres-showstopper/dont let the door hit you I always view 45s like these that your getting two for the price of one! Or even buying 2 separate records
  8. An ex copy at rare soul 45s,dont know if £75 is a good price?
  9. Looks like a pulp fan chucked this video together, maybe took all of 15 minutes to make! And of course the music doesnt suit the casino footage at all. As a point i don’t mind pulp, but this tune shows they have defo had there day in the sun….sorry Jarvis.
  10. Top 3 for me are: Condition red On the brink Astral trip

I only like purpose made instrumentals, not so keen on a simple backing track with the vocal removed, equally I prefer i few instrumentals as opposed to the vocal…exus trek…the Patrick Bradley….tough girl

Beautiful strong ex (most would say m-) copy, looks as fresh as the day it was made! Plays perfect and no drill hole! £1000
  13. I had a go at the Astor’s 45,it sounds so out of place on stax, sounds like it should have been a shrine 45!
  14. Yeah I don’t get back cueing and headphones, you should know your records well enough to know the run in timings, not rocket science šŸ˜‚

    CANT recommend? Or typo?
  20. As I mentioned in my reply, the talking gives the dancers chance to catch there breath and a few seconds prep for the next tune,so talking for me is essential, and a traditional up keep of the northern soul dj!

I like the upgrade, looks and feels professional (if that’s the correct term) šŸ‘
  22. The Terry callier was a bit rough for a starting bid of 450 quid!
  23. Personally I prefer the dj to talk/introduce the next tune, doesnt matter what they say or whether I can decipher it,and it doesn’t matter that they are telling you something you already know, importantly it gives you a few seconds to catch your breath and get ready for the next tune, sometimes fore warned is fore armed!
