I don't think it is Steve C. on the Footsee cover. To the right of the guy who is supposedly Steve C. and wearing a white Simon type shirt is a lad called Jeff who was from Middleton. To his right at approx 2o'clock is the head of a lad with dark hair and sideburns....this is Cess from Oldham. The colour photo with Stuart Cosgrove, Steve C. etc on, isn't the girl to the left of the picture called Dell, she used to hang around with Frank and was from Yorkshire.....Halifax, Huddersfield.

"THE SNAKE" Al Wilson (Soul City/ UK Liberty) Or am I being a dick?
  5. Not one, but two poor examples! Never mind.
  6. That's fair enough, it fits in with what you like and flicks your switches. As for m,e it is just another record that dosen't cut the gumbo!
  7. No it isn't......it was a below average record back then. Nuff' said!
  8. I took a load of decent oldies to a well known 'niter in November.....about 10 people looked through......sold one record.....and then the bloke had to go and find a cash machine! WTF??? Yep, better off buying at the end of a mouse!!!
  9. And to be honest....it isn't a good Northern record. It was known, but was never anything coz it wasn't up to the standard of the time! Sorry!
  10. Richard Searling lent it to me at Ashton Tiff's in around 1975.....it has been knocking about the scene for decades. He also had stuff like Difosko, Robert Tenard etc; think he was just starting to get in a bit more with Soul Bowl.

    What a load of CLAPTRAP!!!
  12. There were various crews who could create an uneasy moment for some. However to glorify them is pointless....a lot of them are dead....and those that did rob or intimidate people were opportunists and picked on the weakest, or stupidest. In general if you were okay, they were okay!

No it wasn't......clapping was to punctuate and emphasize certain records at certain parts of the tune.....that's how it was......dunno what went on after 1977 at clubs. But why clap after every record? Did the crowd boo if they didn't like the chosen disc. A bit like beer towels.....a Rocker/ greebo thing
  14. My point is that very few of these auction results actually have any meaningful relevance as to quality or rarity.
  15. Only £250 for a British "Evil One" demo.....someone has got a good deal......it just shows that these results are no indication of reality!!!!
  16. They are "The Secret Six" an elite now disbanded group of BPI field agents who have just discovered the whereabouts of Simon's covert pressing plant......you can make out the huge state of the art stamping plates in the images.
  17. They are hoists for kids to get into their platform soled shoes, a throwback to the fads and fashions of theat era, those kids in the photo have just been released from them.
  18. It may be that he has just landed on that guy's black plastit fist ..... or remembered that he 'd put that bottle of Coca- Cola in one of his back pockets!1
  19. I wonder if it was hollowed out and he stashed some of his gear in there?
  20. However the photos, once again are great....very, very good.
  21. The bloke with the plastic black fist around his neck......ffs!
  22. Also check out the platform soled shoes on the majority of "the Brut soaked masses".
  23. What are we using now?
  24. Narcissistic....dick waving.....glad handing.....back slapping.....look at me....! That's what it's all about.........
  25. Beyond belief!
