  5. Yep that's right - he got I think 15-20 copies of it from Campbell and dished them out to his mates It's one that never turns up, and in fairness doesn't get played enough. Steve

Yeah I had it as late 60s, deffo before the 70s Mark
  7. Yeah but 1 hr early doors in an allnighter? If I left a gig everytime there was a DJ I didn't like on, I'd be called "Steve who never stays" rather than "Steve who stays to the bitter end"....I don't wish to get embroiled in this particular dispute as I wasn't there and don't know some of the people involved well (if at all), just a bit puzzled by it all....Steve
  8. Talking of funky stuff and crossover... Satin Billy Byrd Herman Hitson Three sure fire winners!
  9. I agree with the Womble. We have four pages of hissy fit venom about how bad Paul's set allegedly was, then he comes on and tells us it's stuff like Debbie Taylor, Sam Dees.......ffs what is going on here?
  10. "We want Freedom" wasn't on Lawton I'm sorry to say. It never got beyond a promo release that didn't get promoted by Manny (EDDIE) Campbell. BTW this is the same man behind Tierra and also Nurons

Thanks for the post Gavin - a real quality artist that did so much good stuff......another sad loss, and no age at all really. His style was pretty unique, and I enjoyed seeing him at Cleethorpes.
  15. Have PM'd you. Steve
  16. Jack Sass Band will have it's day....one day
  17. Not exactly true but funny nonetheless "There is a copy of Frank Wilson within five miles of where I am standing - my job is to try and find it"
  18. "what you want me to paint the whole bloody thing?"
  19. Got a copy somewhere, seem to recall it's quite slow

But Mark we've always had these differences amongst our community. The only difference now is you see it more on the Internet where it's very easy to disagree with someone just by posting an email. In the old days you only saw them in the magazines letter columns, and by the time you read it, the issue was probably long since gone (unless of course it's oldies versus newies, 60s versus 70s etc - those arguments have raged on for decades). But politix has always been part of the scene. So don't lose heart! Steve
  21. "At the newly refurbished Wilton all nighter, the true cost of employing cheap East European labour was plain for everyone to see"
  22. UK Demo about 50-60. Who'se the lead singer? Some white college kid Peter Noone look-a-like with hair over his collar. Quite a nice pop record though.
  23. Hi ya Jordi is this only available in Manch? Best wishes to you and the Holyman..... Steve
