I am really surprised he hasn't worn the bloody thing out by now. How did he cue them all up if the tracks were on two sides of the same disc I wonder - this and other imponderables to be revealed in "Soul Survivors Volume 2" - or maybe not.

yeah but no but yeah but...because we might have danced to it as kids, does not a good record maketh. We also danced to the Javells etc as young things in youth clubs before realising that we were being duped. The sands of time have been particularly cruel to SITS, and whilst perfectly acceptable to 14 year olds getting into NS and being influenced by not much older DJ's, with the benefit of 30 years experience, it now sounds truly dreadful (as does the Reflections, as does August & Deneen). Also didn't the Beach Girls cover SITS long before Wigans Novation? Ahem! I rest my case. I like "What's wrong with me baby" and view it as something of a minor classic, but SITS is dreadful west coast sub pop drivel aimed at the Californian surfing crowd.

Savannah Intl - fantastic record, and one of two he did on the label. "What am I gonna do" is an old moddun spin from the early - mid 80's (Peterborough etc.).

Just how many Dat Richfield Kat Lps did he do - I have 4 or 5, and ones a double! A busy bee indeed before he was famous.

Do not sell your collection - your squeeze should be able to tolerate a few records piled up in a corner somewhere without too much trouble.

You may be talking about an early edition of Blackbeat or even Northern Line Hippo. Kev Griffin got this information about it being pressed up for the B side from....erm.... John Manship....No seriously I cannot recall who told him that but it may have been John. Who was it said that "I've forgotten more than I can care to remember" ?

I reckon a few of us should get this one going.....if Johnie Howard and Sammy Lee can make it, so can this...
  10. There certainly are if you have the time to look.
  11. She'd thank you for saying that Gene! I shall pass on your interest
  12. As rare as Atco's come mate. As rare as Darrow Fletcher in fact. Not that those facts mean that it would be expensive neccesarily, as we all know rarity is not equal to price. Demand drives price. Well done for getting it cheap on Ebay, not many of us have this 45 though and it is 'ard.
  13. Or a Philly collector Ted
  14. Not the same one Gene R. Sorry.
  15. Presumably the issue then?

    Fantastic - Rita & Tiaras £15
  21. I had a similar experience in Waltham Cross the other week Totally soul less place (unlike Gloucester), and in the mall out blast these n.s. classics. Can only assume someone is supplying these "malls" with CD's of "norvern" material. Still can't complain can we......

    It will
  23. Dunno JV's emails all got very confusing, and I for one lost the plot - perhaps then JV can take the bootlegger out?.... or at least "threaten" him
  24. And today's trivia question - what group did Ujima become?
