  1. Yeah thought that suit looked familiar. He took Mickey Stevenson with him (stayed in green room). JR did a reasonable interview and listed some of his fave tracks; Shop Awound, You've weally got a hold on me, Twacks of my tears, etc.
  2. That pic from Jonathan Ross, Martin? Did you see it?

Do you work nights Paul? Jackie or Sam that's a toughie, probably too close to call. You didn't want to add Otis to the mix then?
  11. If you were locked in a room for 2 hours with Kiss FM blasting out, then any of the above came on .. I for one would be doing f***ing flips & twists! All good soul in the mix (ish). It's the modern played out oldies .. That's the thing.. :secret:
  12. Yeah did that (post # 9) didn't work. Try again without fancy dan reworded link thingy. Bet it still doesn't piggin' work. But hey everyone knows 'You just don't know'. Still like At the Discotheque, not ashamed to say.. https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Chubby_Chec...'t_Know.ram

    How did it go?
  16. It doesn't make her any less valid as a soul singer. Her success came before the Supremes also. As I said earlier, some of her latter day performances lacked any of the power of her earlier one's. I felt perhaps all that she'd been through must have taken it's toll on her. That was all. Not having a go and not anti Martha per se. I think she's fab. That alright for yer ..?

  18. Is that a GP in your avatar?
  19. Lucky? Or sheer class? You know the truth .. Things like Stormy etc show polish of DR. Martha just lost it a bit vocally for me as time went on. Wasn't she institutionalized at one stage?
  20. sunnysoul? Only a question mate Baz is right there was a poll on here once, had a goodly amount of votes and gave a clear indication as to average age on scene etc. Was a while ago though. Don't know who did it ..

Have a little look at this mate /index.p...ic=15114&hl= There's the lyrics to 'Stop overlooking me' amongst others in there ..
  22. Diana Motown # 1 act not just cos of legover's. Martha bless her (and I know she's got soul). But those latter day tired old club singer performances don't stack up against Ms Ross imo.
  23. Yes, strewth! Lets hope it's a short term thing ..
  24. Heard him plugging this on Tuesday on the way to school/work; He was singing "Our love will grow" and saying "yeah northern soul, winders dah'n". I was grinning I'm ashamed to say!
  25. Chill Winston! Ain't no handbags in site when Don Varner's playing, that's for damn sure.. Right that's an education, lets move on.
