I think you've done a bang up job there LG. Seen many versions of that spoof vid, but never an NS type one. Sure JM won't mind the publicity and would/will take it in the spirit in which it was intended. Thanks for giving us all a good grin today, top man!

I thought it was funny as feck, like the rest of us, but now you come to mention it, there's more than a couple of references of bombing Manship and destroying Manship.. Hmm.. Johhny boy been schtum on the subject far as I can see, all over facebook..
  5. Soulontop you're a scream! The comment, the signature, the whole schmear! Keep it up, ktf, right on, okeh..
  6. In terms of audio, technology will never eclipse originality with regards the Northern Soul scene, which, like it or not, keeps on burning. For and on behalf of The Soul Police.
  7. Real thick old fecker, feels like a carver. Flip is JGA for me mate Dave

  9. I just wasn't sure if it had previously been mentioned? My cousin sent me a copy - have the full sp at home, so will advise on label & flip - just don't know who is behind it. Will add further info when I get home (shortly thank God).
  10. Any more info on this? Turned up in the post the other day..

Wonder what he had up his sleeve? Thought it'd make nearer 15. How long til the next one?
  12. This was supposed to be one of the harder reissues to spot. I'm not even certain whether the posted pic is an orig or boot - I suspect the former.
  13. Scratch that, found it.. Current bid: £ 12,027.00 Time remaining: Approx. 1 week 6 days
  14. Weird, can't see it anywhere?
  15. What did the Mello Souls go for?
  16. I'd say kick off with something upbeat, or uptempo. A peppy dancer perhaps. Amount of times someone's come on and played something oh so deep and meaningful, but it's cods. Pack the floor if you can from the off and try and keep it that way and if the venue is the 100 Club and you're following Mick Smith, pay no mind to his ribbing as to the state of the floor and what you've to live up to!
  17. Exactly! That's exactly what this thread has been about all of these years. I think in truth we have surprised ourselves with the sheer number of active and significant clubs there were in the 1980's.
  18. Pretty sure within this thread I did a list of all known 80's venues - scroll on back..
  19. An 'anti northern' boyfriend eh? Bet you dropped him like a bad habit! I can't comprehend people that don't like soul music. Drum & Base maybe, but not soul and northern soul is the cream of the crop. I suppose being gospel based with roots in the church etc, being anti soul is a little like being an atheist in my book. Certainly seems like it!
  20. You have all my sympathy Chatty. Happened to me the other week to the tune of 60 odd quid, grrr.
  21. Effing bassdad's.. Wonder if there was any cctv in the area.. Thug divs won't know what they've got, probably ditch them..
  22. Sorry Dave, I didn't mean to pish in your rice bowl mate. R&B and Latin Soul are a part of Northern Soul and that's why they'd be listed on here, but Andy Williams.. Not even the best version of House of Bamboo. That said, Tony Blackburn was played at Wigan, but things like that don't go on now. Hey it's a catchy tune and centre or no, it's worth something.
  23. Steady. It's a soul site, or a rare soul site to be more precise. Which without wishing to sound unreasonable, is a billion miles away from Andy Bleedin Williams!
