I don't think it was forgotten about just too cheap for most. Too many are more interested in records far rarer and pricier than to worry about a little ole forty quider. It's been known and had plays for years just never really made it.

I've seen countless acts and Lee Fields up is up there with some of the best I've seen, the best in recent years for sure. The Expressions are great as well, really tight. The clip in the first post is one I took at Leeds last year, there are a few more on my youtube page. Anyone who is into live acts should go and see Lee Fields.

He gave me a playlist of the list of the last night at Stafford in the upstairs room. That would be February 1986.

I'll ask the writer/producer when I get chance if he kows anything. He got in touch long time ago, he had a copy for sale.

Damon Alburn and Richard Russell deserve a huge pat on the back and some well earned respect for what they've done for Bobby. Haven't seen all Bobby yet but what I have seen it would appear he struggled at first, wrong song choices maybe to start the set off? But once he was into the second half of his set he was kicking ass.

I never said there weren't any better cheaper records and yes taste is subjective, it would be boring if we all liked the same things. Turned up? I take it records you've simply found that were already known? The way I read it you've discovered better records and I was simply interested to see what better discoveries these were.

There is nothing snobbish about buying cheap records and sticking to original vinyl Pete. The topic I highlighted will keep Liam busy for a long time within his budget and get him a fantastic collection without the need to resort to reissues. He and others like him are the future of the scene and may wish to move into DJing, no many will touch him with outta sight re-issues. He can get plenty of fun without buying re-issues and yes he should buy whatever he wants, I fully agree. Shouldn't we just stick to giving Liam tips rather than turn this into another OVO/boot topic, having said that we haven't done the topic for the last few weeks so another is due.

There is a fantastic topic on here cheap as chips or something similar, will keep you going buying wise for a few years the recommendations.
